Giving computers to support people with disabilities to sell online

On July 8, the Association for the Support of the Disabled and Protection of Children's Rights of Thai Nguyen province in collaboration with SHB Bank presented 9 used desktop computers to 9 disabled people from 5 communes (Dai Phuc, Van Phu, Dai Tu, Tan Thanh, Phu Binh) and 4 wards (Tich Luong, Ba Xuyen, Bach Quang, Phan Dinh Phung).

These are people who have participated in the online sales training course organized by the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities (PWD) and Orphans of Vietnam.

The program "Computers and smart information technology devices to support livelihoods and learning for people with disabilities and orphans" is funded by the Central Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Protection of Children's Rights.   Implement, target by 2027 to mobilize and donate about 2,000 computers to people with disabilities and orphans nationwide.

In the initial phase, Thai Nguyen was one of 10 localities selected as pilot areas, with the target of receiving at least 25 computers each year. To make the program effective, the Association conducted a survey on the needs of PWDs for using technology equipment, and at the same time called for the participation of organizations, businesses, and benefactors inside and outside the province to join hands in supporting.

Not stopping at providing equipment, the Program also organizes training courses on computer skills and smart technology, helping PWDs access supporting software, such as: NVDA, Talk Back, Live Transcribe; support in using online working platforms, such as: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams... Thereby, creating a solid foundation for PWDs to improve their skills, confidently integrate and participate in economic and social activities.
