The Agricultural Extension Center of Dak Lak and Phu Yen provinces (formerly) was established in 1993. After 32 years, the Agricultural Extension Center has developed strongly through many stages, with many meaningful programs and projects such as: Food security program; Sustainable agricultural transformation project in Vietnam (VnSAT); Sustainable coffee development program - Public-private partnership PPP; Project "Building a model for planting new sugarcane varieties, applying intensive technical processes, linking with factories consuming raw sugarcane"...

Programs and projects contribute to shaping the agricultural production structure towards commodity production, meeting the requirements of the domestic and export markets. The activities of the Agricultural Extension Center also actively support many households in remote areas, ethnic minority areas, and poor households to increase their income and strive to become rich sustainably. With the companionship and support of the Agricultural Extension Center, Dak Lak's agricultural sector is growing stronger and stronger. Typically, Dak Lak currently has 307,708 hectares of perennial trees; 441,343 hectares of annual trees; 76,783 hectares of high-value fruit trees such as durian, avocado, lychee, longan, etc.

After the merger, Dak Lak has many opportunities to expand its comprehensive economic development space. In particular, the province's agricultural sector can promote its advantages in terms of area, productivity, output as well as the diversity of crops, livestock, aquaculture, forestry, etc. Along with that, the Government and localities are also implementing many policies to support the agricultural sector in infrastructure investment, projects, development of key products, raw material areas, etc. These are extremely important conditions for the agricultural extension sector to promote its position and role in the new situation.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thien Van acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements of the entire agricultural sector. In particular, in the period of 2021-2025, the agricultural sector has developed quite rapidly in the direction of high quality and sustainability; playing a "supporting" role in maintaining the growth rate and expanding the economic scale of the province; the average growth of the agricultural sector reached 5.24%/year...

In the context of the country entering a new development stage with many intertwined opportunities and challenges, the role of the agricultural and environmental sectors is becoming increasingly important. Agriculture is not only a "pillar", but is also expected to become an important growth driver, contributing to helping the economy achieve double-digit growth. In the immediate future, ensuring the province's growth target in 2025 reaches 8% or more, the agricultural and environmental sectors alone must strive for 5.56%/year.

The Provincial Agricultural Extension Center signed a cooperation agreement with units and localities in agricultural development cooperation.

In the coming time, the Department of Agriculture and Environment needs to enhance its leadership and direction in agricultural extension work; create a breakthrough in job position thinking, promote professional capacity to effectively perform assigned tasks.

The agricultural sector needs to continue restructuring its production sectors; accelerate development based on the application of high technology, digital transformation and added value. Identifying breakthroughs in science and technology and digital transformation as key driving forces, creating a solid foundation for the agricultural sector to develop rapidly and sustainably in the new situation.
