Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan meets voters in An Giang province

On the afternoon of July 7, Party Central Committee member, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and National Assembly deputies of An Giang province met with voters of Tan Hiep commune (An Giang) after the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly.

Attending the conference were Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council Nguyen Thanh Nhan; Vice Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy.

With a frank and open spirit, voters of Tan Hiep commune raised many topical issues, close to the specific situation at the groundswell level, such as food safety, fighting against counterfeiting and poor quality goods. Voter Le Van Son, reflecting in Tan Hiep commune, suggested: "We must strictly handle and increase penalties for the production of counterfeit goods, especially the production of fake medicines that affect people's health."

The majority of voters agree with and believe in the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; they believe that the operation of the local government apparatus at the communal level after the merger is basically stable. Voter Le Thi Kieu Nga, reflecting in Tan Hiep commune, said: "The policy arranging of two-level local government is a major and correct policy, I strongly agree. The Central Government and the province have promptly issued documents guiding the arrangement and policies."

Voter Le Thi Kieu Nga suggested that the Central and the province pay attention to non-professional commune-level workers when they finish their work, and arrange them soon and have the best policies for them. "If they are assigned to work in hamlets, they will feel secure in their work; if they are allowed to retire early, they will take care of their families and actively contribute to local development," said Russian voter.

Voter Luong Quang Vang, reflecting in Tan Hiep commune, said that the locality has strengths in agricultural production, mainly rice production. However, recently, farmers have encountered difficulties in selling their products, high prices of agricultural materials, and unstable rice prices due to fluctuations in the domestic and export markets.

Voters suggested that the Central Government and the province need to have policies, solutions, and investment policies to develop infrastructure in agricultural production and policies to connect high-quality products with domestic and foreign markets, in order to stabilize output for farmers.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of An Giang province Nguyen Thanh Nhan spoke at the conference.

Speaking at the meeting with voters, Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Council, said that the locality has great potential and advantages. The current source of agricultural, forestry and fishery raw materials in the area is still very large, the problem is to increase the quality and value of products.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Nhan said that recently, the province has paid attention to investing in irrigation to serve agricultural production, as well as promoting clean agricultural production associated with connecting product outputs. In the future, the province will calculate investment resources for traffic connection, medical infrastructure, education, and essential needs of the people such as electricity and water will continue to be of interest, especially in rural areas.

At the conference, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan respectfully appreciated voters for their dedicated and responsible opinions, demonstrating high consensus in society on important decisions of the Central Government.

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan emphasized that the whole country is entering an important moment, drastic implementing the work of streamlining and organizing the apparatus to be lean and effective and starting to implement the two-level local government model from July 1, 2025. Kien Giang and An Giang provinces have merged into the new An Giang province, hoping that voters, party committees and authorities will join hands and unite to build the new An Giang province to be more and more prosperous. Provincial leaders, all levels and sectors continue to calculate to bring the province's socio-economic development to be sustainable, improve people's lives and adapt to climate change.
