Pepper price today July 14: Pepper price tends to increase dramatically

At the end of last week, domestic pepper prices decreased by 1,000 to 3,000 VND/kg compared to last week. Specifically, pepper prices in Dak Lak decreased the most by 3,000 VND/kg. In Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc, pepper prices decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to last week. In Gia Lai and Dak Nong, pepper prices remained unchanged last week.

Currently, domestic pepper prices are remaining high, opening up favorable opportunities for farmers and businesses to optimize profits. In the first 6 months of 2025, Vietnam exported about 137,000 tons of pepper, reaching a turnover of 556 million USD. Compared to the same period in 2024, output decreased by 14.2% but value increased by 5.3%, showing that export prices increased while supply showed signs of tightening.

Faced with this situation, farmers are advised not to sell in bulk but to have a flexible strategy. Dividing the amount of pepper sold according to market developments and investing in sustainable pepper garden renovation will help stabilize long-term income.

For businesses, it is necessary to focus on improving pepper quality through processing, classification, chemical residue control and improving traceability to meet the requirements of demanding markets such as the US, EU and Japan.

Pepper price today July 14 in the world market

In the world market, based on quotes from export enterprises and export prices in various countries, the International Pepper Community (IPC) has updated the prices of all types of pepper traded in the international market on July 12 (Hanoi time) as follows:

Indonesian Lampung black pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $7,393/ton. In addition, Muntok white pepper prices remained unchanged from yesterday at $10,177/ton.

Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 price remained unchanged from yesterday at USD 6,225/ton.

Malaysia’s ASTA black pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $8,900/ton. Meanwhile, the country’s ASTA white pepper price remained stable from yesterday at $11,750/ton.

Prices of all types of pepper in Vietnam are stable compared to yesterday. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 gr/l is 6,440 USD/ton; 550 gr/l is 6,570 USD/ton.

Similarly, Vietnam's white pepper price remained unchanged from yesterday at $9,150/ton.

While domestic pepper prices fell slightly last week, Vietnam's pepper export prices unexpectedly increased by 200 USD/ton. The advantage of Vietnamese pepper comes from the international context. The US has announced reciprocal tariffs on pepper imported from Brazil and Indonesia at rates of 50% and 32%, respectively. This gives Vietnamese pepper a great competitive advantage in the US market.

According to statistics from the International Trade Center (ITC), in May 2025, the US imported 8,050 tons of pepper, an increase of 21.5% compared to the previous month. Of which, Vietnam accounted for 76.6% with 6,170 tons, the rest were India (737 tons), Indonesia (604 tons) and Brazil (301 tons). By the end of May, the total amount of pepper imported by the US reached 36,260 tons, a slight decrease of 3.3% compared to the same period last year, but still 29.1% higher than the same period in 2023.

Previously, in the second quarter of 2025, pepper prices had fallen sharply due to seasonal pressure and increased imports, losing more than VND20,000/kg compared to the previous peak. However, recent signals show that the trend has reversed positively, bringing great expectations to pepper growers in the second half of the year.
