Pig prices continue to fall

Pig prices continued to decline, generally at 65,000-71,000 VND/kg. In Vinh Long, pig prices range from 65,000-68,000 VND/kg, down to 7,000-8,000 VND/kg compared to last month and 16,000-17,000 VND/kg lower than the peak of 82,000-84,000 VND/kg at the beginning of the year.

According to some pig traders, the reason for the decrease in pig prices is the sharp increase in supply when farmers simultaneously sell pigs at the same time, along with the increase in herd restoration in previous months. In addition, pork consumption is slowing down as many consumers switch to other types of fish and meat with cheaper prices, causing the pig market to cool down.
