Attending the seminar were comrade Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, along with provincial leaders, experts, scientists, businesses and cooperatives.
Opening the discussion, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen, Duong Xuan Hung, emphasized that merging into a new province is not only merging administrative units, but also the resonance and expansion of tourism resources of the new Thai Nguyen province.
The practice of tourism development in the two old provinces in recent times has not been commensurate with the potential. Therefore, research to exploit and promote tourism resources is extremely important.
More than 15 papers were submitted to the seminar, focusing on evaluating, suggesting and proposing solutions to develop tourism in the coming time.
The discussions clearly showed that after the province's merger, Thai Nguyen has advantages in terms of geographical location and convenient transportation.
Rich natural, cultural and human resources with more than 1,000 historical and cultural relics, landscapes and scenic spots included in the inventory.
Of which, there are 3 special national relics, 67 national-level relics, 316 provincial-level relics, and 43 heritages in the list of national intangible cultural heritages.
Thai Nguyen is famous for Cho Don and Dinh Hoa safety zones; Nui Coc lake; Ba Be lake; Thai Hai stilt house village, one of the 32 best tourist villages in the world... Thai Nguyen is known as "The first famous tea" with famous and delicious tea products.
After the merger, Thai Nguyen entered a new era, a new development, the province's tourism industry faced new opportunities, but also many intertwined challenges.

Limitations were also frankly pointed out, such as: tourism products are still poor; the tourism market is mainly domestic tourists, few international tourists; tourism facilities and transport infrastructure are still weak; tourism human resources are lacking and weak...
Many valuable and dedicated ideas have been raised to overcome the above limitations, such as: Opportunities, challenges and strategic orientations for tourism development after the province's merger; solutions to build and develop agricultural products, OCOP, and craft villages associated with new rural construction; new journeys, new aspirations; human potential in tourism development...
Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Director of the National Tourism Administration Ha Van Sieu assessed that the province's merger opens up new opportunities for Thai Nguyen tourism. Thai Nguyen tourism is entering a new "highway" in the context of the Central Government issuing many important resolutions to promote digital transformation and business economy.
However, Thai Nguyen tourism is currently only at an average level of development, although tourism resources are very rich.
The Deputy Director suggested that in the coming time, Thai Nguyen province must build and perfect tourism development policies; reposition destinations; and re-plan tourism according to a new vision and new stature.
The province needs to prioritize infrastructure development; recognize tourist areas and spots; synchronize digital transformation and tourism connections. In particular, it is necessary to provide systematic training and guidance for tourism workers, especially homestay workers; replicate models, arouse love for the homeland, pride in famous landscapes and landscapes, thereby creating enthusiasm for tourism.
In addition, the province also needs to promote, market, and connect to spread tourism potential domestically and internationally.
