The temporary waste collection point in group 11, Quyet Thang ward, causes environmental pollution and affects urban aesthetics.

This is the location chosen by the collection unit as a temporary garbage collection point, which has existed for a long time, becoming a gathering point for garbage trucks with a large amount of household waste. Not only the people in this area, but also some people living in the neighboring areas "take the opportunity" to throw garbage here every time they pass by.

As a result, the waste is stagnant, piled up, giving off a strong stench, and is swarmed by flies, especially on hot days or late afternoons, when specialized vehicles have not yet had time to transport the waste for treatment.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Hai, a resident of Group 11, Quyet Thang Ward, said: Not only does it affect the environment and people's lives, garbage trucks blocking the roadway also pose a danger to other vehicles. We have witnessed accidents or minor collisions due to drivers not being able to detect garbage trucks in the dark, or having to turn sharply to avoid them, leading to loss of control and crashing into electric poles on the sidewalk...

It is worth mentioning that the location of the garbage trucks is close to the gate of Ngo Quyen High School, where during the school year, nearly 2,000 students and teachers come and go every day, affecting the school environment.

The gathering of garbage trucks on the road affects the lives of people in group 11, Quyet Thang ward.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Chief of Office of Quyet Thang Ward People's Committee, said: We have grasped the situation of temporary garbage gathering in Group 11 and are developing a plan to review garbage gathering and collection points; have a direction to move to a more suitable location, avoiding affecting the lives and activities of people and urban aesthetics. In addition, the Ward People's Committee has developed a plan to launch a peak period of propaganda, patrolling, controlling, and resolutely handling violations of public order and traffic safety in the area...

To thoroughly handle this situation, there needs to be drastic and synchronous participation from local authorities, garbage collection units and people. Quyet Thang Ward People's Committee needs to review and propose re-planning of reasonable garbage transfer points, with appropriate distances from residential areas, schools and public places. Transfer points need to be invested in and built according to standards, have shelters, odor treatment systems and ensure aesthetics...
