The 500kV line 3 project, assigned by Vietnam Electricity (EVN) to the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) as the investor, has a total length of 519 km, 1,177 pole locations, passing through 211 communes/wards of 43 districts in 9 provinces with a total investment of more than VND 22,300 billion. These are power transmission projects that play a particularly important role in improving the stable reserve at the North-Central interface, supplementing capacity from the North Central region to the Northern region, reducing the load on existing 500kV lines to ensure the N-1 criteria.
Under the strong direction of the Prime Minister, the Government, the attention and support of ministries, localities and people, EVN/EVNNPT has made efforts to complete the construction and energize the project after more than 6 months according to the assigned schedule. This is an outstanding achievement that has been commended by the Prime Minister, and recognized by the Government, ministries, localities and people.
According to EVNNPT leaders, the first thing to mention is the investment preparation work when after only nearly 5 months from the time of the decision to implement, the projects were approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy/adjustment of investment policy along with conversion of forest use purposes. This is a record short time, while projects of similar scale take 2-3 years.
In the contractor selection process, the projects have a total of 226 packages. EVNNPT and the Project Management Boards have mobilized all specialized personnel, organized centralized bidding, worked day and night, without days off. The results were completed in about 60 days.
During the construction process, the construction site encountered many difficulties: Difficulty in mobilizing large-capacity pile driving/pressing machines to simultaneously construct 239/1,177 pile foundation locations in a short time, leading to local shortages. Difficulty in the route terrain with many locations through ponds, swamps, on high hills and mountains, the road to the column foundation locations is long and steep, making it very difficult and slippery when it rains; Difficulty in processing steel columns when the weight of the steel columns to be processed is 139,000 tons, of which the domestic production volume is 114,000 tons...
However, to complete the project on schedule as directed by the Prime Minister, EVN/EVNNPT and the Project Management Boards have coordinated with contractors to concentrate human resources and construction machinery to immediately implement the construction as directed by the Prime Minister with the motto of "4 on-site", "3 shifts, 4 crews", "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", "only working, not working backwards", "working through holidays, Tet, and days off".
As a result, after more than 6 months of construction, the 500kV Nam Dinh I - Thanh Hoa transmission line project and the synchronous projects of the 500kV Thanh Hoa transformer station were energized on June 30, 2024. The two 500kV Nam Dinh I - Pho Noi and Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa transmission line projects were energized on August 19, 2024 and the last project, the 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu transmission line, was energized on August 27, 2024.
Thus, up to now, the Vietnam Electricity industry has completed the construction and put into operation 4 circuits of 500kV power transmission lines from North to South with the length of each line of more than 1,500km stretching along the length of the country. Of which, the 500kV North - South line circuit 1 was energized and put into operation on May 27, 1994, followed by the 500kV line circuit 2 on September 23, 2005 and on August 27, the final sections of the two circuits of the 500kV line circuit 3 were completed and put into operation.
Recently, in the article "fighting waste", General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized the need to summarize and replicate the experience of implementing the 500kV line project, circuit 3, for key national public investment projects and works. |
