Mr. Gerard Albadajelo (born in 1983, Spanish) will officially lead Ninh Binh Club from July, replacing Mr. Nguyen Viet Thang. Coach Albadajelo will be supported by 5 fellow countrymen, including a technical assistant, fitness coach, goalkeeping coach, analyst and rehabilitation specialist.
Coach Gerard Albadajelo shared the day of his new club's debut: "I came here to join the team towards new successes. We will continue what we did last season. This is an interesting challenge."
As a player, Gerard Albadajelo played for small teams in Barcelona and retired very early (age 26) due to injury.
When he switched to coaching, at a young age, Albadajelo had not won any notable major titles while working in his country. Before coming to Vietnam, he led a number of teams in Segunda Division B (the third league in the Spanish professional football system).
Before officially signing the contract, coach Albadalejo and Ninh Binh Club had many discussions for a long time. In addition to his main job of leading the first team, the Spanish strategist can support Ninh Binh Club in the plan to establish a football academy.

Also at the coach's introduction ceremony, Ninh Binh Club announced a number of new recruits including midfielder Nguyen Duc Chien and three players from Hoang Anh Gia Lai : Tran Bao Toan, Dung Quang Nho and Chau Ngoc Quang.
The first foreign player the ancient capital team signed was striker Gustavo Henrique. Coach Albadalejo will also bring in a Spanish center-back and midfielder.
Ninh Binh Club won the 2024 - 2025 National First Division Championship with an unbeaten record of 19 wins and 1 draw. They won the championship and won a ticket to the V-League 1 round early, becoming the first team in the history of Vietnamese football to win the First Division Championship with an unbeaten record.
Not stopping there, Ninh Binh also has many ambitions when playing in the highest tournament of Vietnamese professional football.
