On the day he completed the contract termination procedure with Da Nang Club, striker Ha Minh Tuan expressed his gratitude and thanks before announcing his retirement from professional football.
"The one who says thank you is me, not Da Nang Club. Da Nang is the club that raised me, gave me every meal and sleep. I remember and am grateful, but what I have contributed cannot be compared to what Da Nang Club has brought to me," Ha Minh Tuan wrote.
The play-off match against Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club on June 29 was the last time he played professionally for Da Nang Club. Ha Minh Tuan played 14 matches, started 2 matches, and scored 1 goal.
The striker born in 1991 is about to turn 35 and is aware of the decline of his career. Ha Minh Tuan "pocketed" 2 V-League championships with Da Nang Club in 2012 and Quang Nam in 2017.
Growing up from the Han River football team, in 15 years of professional competition, Ha Minh Tuan only played for Da Nang and Quang Nam. As for the Vietnamese national team, he joined the training camp twice and left early both times.
In 2013, Ha Minh Tuan was called up to the national team to prepare for the match against Hong Kong (China) in the Asian Cup qualifiers. Six years later, coach Park Hang Seo called up Ha Minh Tuan for the match against Thailand in the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup. Both times, the striker from Quang Nam had injury problems.
Ha Minh Tuan is often referred to as "Le Huynh Duc's successor", which is both a source of pride and pressure throughout his ten years of professional competition. He could not compare to his idol.
