Cultural and tourism bridge between Vietnam and Pakistan

On July 4, in Hanoi, Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism coordinated with the Embassy of Pakistan in Vietnam to organize the Pakistan Tourism Day event with the theme "Pakistan: The hidden gem of South Asia - exploring tourism potential".

The event aims to introduce the natural beauty and Buddhist cultural heritage of Pakistan, as well as opportunities to promote tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Pakistan.

The event was attended by Ambassadors and representatives of embassies of Kazakhstan, Algeria, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Sri Lanka; along with representatives of relevant agencies and research institutes of Vietnam and Pakistan. The event also attracted the participation of many Vietnamese tourism businesses in person and online to learn more about Pakistan - a destination with great potential but still new to many tourists.

The event is an opportunity to promote tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Pakistan.

Speaking online at the event, a representative of the Vietnamese Embassy in Pakistan affirmed that Vietnam and Pakistan have gone through more than 50 years of friendship and cooperation, based on the foundation of trust and mutual respect. Bilateral trade turnover has exceeded 850 million USD, and people-to-people exchange activities are increasingly vibrant, contributing to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.

Vietnam, as a dynamic tourism hub in Southeast Asia and an active member of ASEAN, is ready to share its experience in tourism development and assist Pakistan in attracting more tourists. By promoting cooperation, through direct flights, joint promotions, training programs and cultural exchanges, the two countries can open up new development opportunities.

Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Ha, Principal of Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism, affirmed that through the Pakistan Tourism Day event, delegates have the opportunity to learn more about Pakistan, a country with a rich history, religion, art and magnificent nature. The event is not only an opportunity to introduce Pakistan's tourism potential, but also a cultural-educational -economic bridge, contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and opening up many cooperation opportunities between Vietnam, Pakistan and other countries.

Pakistani Ambassador to Vietnam Kohdayar Marri gave a speech introducing an overview of Pakistan's tourism development strategy, focusing on Buddhist heritage tourism, notably the Gandhara region - the cradle of ancient Buddhist civilization.

At the event, the Embassy of Pakistan brought an emotional perspective of Pakistan - a potential destination with pristine beauty and endless joy. The program's message emphasized: Only when opening your heart and experiencing it directly, can visitors truly feel the soul of Pakistan, where hospitality, natural beauty and kindness and sincerity blend in every moment.

Within the framework of the program, delegates and guests experienced a series of unique content, showing the multi-dimensional beauty of Pakistan through many vivid perspectives. The program shared a video about the real experience of an international tourist who directly visited Pakistan and recorded genuine emotions about the people, nature and culture here; a video made by high school students in Hanoi, expressing the perception of the beauty of Pakistan from the perspective of youth; a video introducing footage of ancient Buddhist relics in the Gandhara region...

The discussion and exchange session at the end of the program attracted the enthusiastic participation of delegates, businesses, experts and students. Many questions and suggestions were raised, focusing on practical topics such as: Opportunities for tourism student exchange between Vietnam and Pakistan; Potential for business cooperation in the fields of hotels, travel and service export; Developing spiritual tourism routes, connecting ancient Buddhist cultural centers. The event contributed to promoting the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Pakistan, opening up opportunities for practical cooperation in the fields of training, student exchange and tourism development between the two countries.
