Previously, singer Kieu Nga's nephew said that the female singer was hospitalized on July 6 due to a ruptured blood vessel in the brain and was scheduled for surgery. After that, she fell into a deep coma with no signs of waking up.

Singer Kieu Nga was born in 1960, the younger sister of famous singer Elvis Phuong, famous in the 1980s and 1990s. Kieu Nga - Ngoc Lan were equally famous at that time with French and English songs. Their singing with : Tuong nhu da quen, Da vu tinh nong, Dau tinh sau, Bien nho, Va toi cung yeu em, Van mai yeu em, Lien khuc tinh yeu... is still in the memory of many audiences. Both were admired by many audiences at home and abroad, considered the "Queens of new wave music" at that time.
In 2011, Kieu Nga returned to Vietnam to attend her brother's 50th anniversary concert. In 2015, she returned to Vietnam to reunite with the audience in a solo concert celebrating her 30th anniversary. The last time the female singer returned to Vietnam was in 2017, when she performed the concert Chansons d'Amour - Eternal Love Music. Kieu Nga shared that this was a special occasion for her to reunite with the domestic audience after a long time apart.
