According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Dao - Khanh An tourist canoe team, at around 10am this morning, when his tourist canoe ran ashore, he encountered a dolphin in the sea near the beach of Ky Co tourist area (Nhon Ly commune).

Immediately, Mr. Dao and the tourists used their phones to record the moment the dolphins were playing on the water surface, to share on social networking sites.

Mr. Dao estimated that the dolphin was about 1.2 - 1.8m long and weighed more than 100kg. He also said that every year, at this time until September - October, dolphins often appear in Nhon Ly waters.

"A school of about 14 - 15 fish, last year there were 2 schools. Every year, the school of dolphins usually moves about 200 - 300m from the shore, but now they are only 10m closer to the shore, this dolphin must have gotten lost," said Mr. Dao.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Danh - Vice Chairman of Nhon Ly Commune People's Committee said that according to the natural law, whales and dolphins swim to feed in the area near the shore for a short time and then leave.

In marine activities, local authorities always integrate propaganda on sea turtle, whale and dolphin conservation with vehicle owners and tourism service businesses, so people and canoe owners are aware of protecting the marine environment and keeping their distance when marine animals appear.

Recently, whales, dolphins and sea turtles have been continuously appearing in the seas of Binh Dinh province. Most recently, a whale about 8m long has been continuously appearing in the seas of Hoai Hai commune (Hoai Nhon town) to hunt for prey.
