At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 3, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang updated the latest information on the situation of Vietnamese people in Israel and Iran after the ceasefire agreement between the two sides.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said that in light of recent developments in the Middle East, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to direct Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel and Iran to maintain citizen protection hotlines, report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and domestic agencies on emerging issues, closely coordinate with domestic agencies, Vietnamese representative agencies in neighboring areas in the region and relevant agencies as well as local diplomatic agencies to closely monitor the situation, and be ready to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of Vietnamese citizens as well as the headquarters of representative agencies in case of emergency.
Vietnamese citizens living, studying and working in Israel and Iran need to continue to strictly comply with local regulations and instructions on security and safety, and continue to maintain regular contact with Vietnamese representative agencies in the area.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said that according to the latest information from Vietnamese representative agencies in Iran and Israel, the situation of the Vietnamese community in the area remains stable, and so far no casualties have been recorded.
During the days of escalating conflict, implementing the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel and Iran closely coordinated with domestic authorities and Vietnamese representative agencies in Russia and Egypt to urgently evacuate 78 Vietnamese citizens from Israel and Iran safely, of whom 63 have returned home.
During this time, Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel and Iran still maintain regular contact with Vietnamese citizens in the host countries to provide timely support./.
