As reported by CAND Newspaper, at around 9:15 a.m. on June 30, the working group of Highway Traffic Police Team No. 2 (Traffic Police Department) was performing their duties as planned on the Hanoi - Hai Phong highway when a passenger bus with license plate 15B-041.23 approached.
Immediately afterwards, the driver and some passengers on the bus, with anxiety, reported that there was a little girl showing signs of unstable health, her body was purple, she was having convulsions and was unconscious and needed help.

In an emergency situation, the working group immediately reported to the unit commander and then quickly transferred the child to a specialized patrol vehicle for the fastest transfer to Bach Mai Hospital (Hanoi).
During the transfer, the task force also informed the hospital of the child's emergency situation so that the hospital could proactively prepare to receive the child. Thanks to the quick and effective support of the Traffic Police task force, the child was promptly taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Sharing about this case, Specialist Doctor II Le Sy Hung, Deputy Director of the Pediatric Center, Bach Mai Hospital said that after receiving the child, through taking the medical history and based on clinical signs, the doctors initially thought that the child's seizures could be epilepsy. However, it is also necessary to continue monitoring and further evaluation to rule out other diseases such as meningoencephalitis, cardiovascular disease, or metabolic disorders.
"Normally, seizures can be short-lived, and children often recover quickly within 1-2 minutes, so the danger is less. In cases where the seizure lasts more than 5 minutes, the danger increases. If emergency treatment is not done promptly, it can easily lead to prolonged brain hypoxia, causing brain damage, even cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest. Even if emergency treatment is successful, the consequences on the brain will also have negative effects later on," said Dr. Hung.
The emergency team quickly gave the child oxygen, accessed the IV lines, assessed heart and lung function to provide support... to ensure absolute safety for the child.
After emergency treatment, the girl regained consciousness and resumed normal activities. Her long-term health prognosis is very good thanks to timely emergency care.
As of today (July 3), the girl is healthy and has been discharged from the hospital. After discharge, she will be consulted, monitored and re-examined periodically by doctors to ensure that she does not have a relapse.
Dr. Hung highly appreciated the support of the traffic police officers who helped the child get to the hospital during the "golden time". Timely emergency care is extremely important, deciding the child's life and future health. Thanks to timely emergency care, the child had almost no negative health effects later on.
The doctor also highly appreciated the coordination between the traffic police and the medical sector in emergency situations on the streets. "We would also like to express our deep gratitude to the traffic police in particular, and the People's Public Security Forces in general, who are always present when needed, supporting patients and patients to get to medical facilities in time. Your role has greatly contributed to the success of treatment. Hopefully in the future, the medical sector will continue to receive such coordination and support," Dr. Hung expressed and affirmed that this is a vital factor for the lives of patients receiving emergency care during the "golden hour".
From the case of the girl, Dr. Hung recommends that parents should closely monitor their children to promptly detect any unusual symptoms in their children, and quickly take their children to the hospital for examination so that the doctor can assess their condition. If you find it difficult to diagnose, consult a doctor and go to a higher-level center or hospital for accurate diagnosis and timely treatment.
In case of health problems in emergency situations such as when traveling on the road, the patient or relatives should not hesitate to ask for help from the authorities on duty on the traffic route to receive the best support.
