At the conference, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Dinh Hoa said that Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment determined that the International Craft Village Conservation and Development Festival 2025 is an important task to celebrate major events of the country, Hanoi City and celebrate the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the Agriculture and Environment sector (November 14, 1945 - November 14, 2025).
This is an opportunity to honor craft villages, artisans and skilled workers, and also an opportunity to promote, introduce and trade the products of the capital's craft villages to domestic and international tourists, contributing to preserving and promoting the national identity and cultural values of traditional crafts.
The main activities of the 2025 International Craft Village Conservation and Development Festival include: Incense offering ceremony at Kinh Thien Palace - Thang Long Imperial Citadel; Opening ceremony of the 2025 International Craft Village Conservation and Development Festival and honoring and awarding prizes to the Vietnam Handicraft Product Contest; Hanoi Craft Village Product Contest; organizing exhibition spaces, performing, creating typical craft village works of Hanoi, provinces and cities in the country and international craft villages with the theme "Conservation - Development - Integration"...
In addition, there are sideline events such as: Organizing a workshop on preserving and developing Hanoi craft villages; Vietnam handicraft product contest; Hanoi craft village product contest; Conference on promoting investment in developing rural and craft village products; participating in the Kokan - Uzbekistan World Craft Festival 2025 for creative cities in the World Craft Council network.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Vo Van Hung said that the theme of this Festival is very important, with the goal of using the Festival to honor and encourage the development of craft villages.
Accordingly, the Organizing Committee needs to choose a theme with a suitable name, in order to "internationalize the culture of the nation". This festival is an opportunity to promote the development of Vietnamese craft villages to a new level. In addition, to implement it, it is necessary to clearly define the responsibilities of the parties in the process of organizing the International Craft Village Conservation and Development Festival in 2025. This is both a playground and an opportunity to connect, spread and promote domestic craft villages to international friends and tourists.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen said that for Hanoi, craft villages are considered an untapped "gold mine", especially during this international Festival, which is an opportunity for craft villages in the capital as well as craft villages in countries around the world to connect, promote and develop trade, so that after the Festival, it is necessary to aim at the goal of commercializing craft village products.
