Da Nang jubilantly opens the 10th Vietnam - Japan Festival

Last night (July 4), at Bien Dong Park (Da Nang), the People's Committee of Da Nang City held the opening ceremony of the 10th Vietnam - Japan Festival in 2025. The festival is an annual cultural and diplomatic event held to enhance exchange, understanding and strengthen the friendly relationship between the people of Vietnam and Japan.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized: 2025 marks the 10-year journey of this iconic event. In particular, this year's festival takes place in the context of Da Nang being newly established on the basis of merging Da Nang City (old) and Quang Nam Province from July 1, 2025, opening up new development opportunities, raising the scale of the festival in the following years.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam Ito Naoki spoke at the opening ceremony of the 10th Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival.

Taking place from July 4 to 6, the festival has many special activities such as traditional and modern art performances; cultural, tourism and culinary exhibitions; sports exchange programs; seminars and business connection talks. A notable highlight is the Conference "Meeting Japan in Da Nang: Promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan".

Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki affirmed that this year's festival has special significance, demonstrating the increasingly deep friendship between Japan and Da Nang and Vietnam in general. The Ambassador said that the number of Japanese enterprises, organizations and localities participating this year is higher than in previous years, demonstrating their interest and expectations for deep cooperation in many fields.

Within the framework of the festival, many activities attract people and tourists such as: Vietnam - Japan art exchange program with more than 100 artists of the two countries; exhibition of children's paintings and bilateral cooperation achievements; more than 100 booths displaying cultural specialties and products and services of the two countries.

Many cultural and artistic exchange activities attracted a large number of people, artists of the two countries and tourists to participate in the festival.

The festival is also an opportunity to promote the image of Da Nang in the new development stage, attract investment, tourism and people-to-people exchange.

"In 2024, the festival welcomed more than 50,000 visitors. The recently resumed direct flight from Osaka to Da Nang will create favorable conditions to promote cooperation and exchange. There are currently nearly 300 Japanese projects in Da Nang with a total capital of more than 1.2 billion USD. The establishment of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone is expected to open up a new momentum for bilateral economic cooperation," Ambassador Ito Naoki added.
