Enterprises with a large number of employees include: Phu Yen Shoe Factory - Ngoc Ha Shoe Joint Stock Company, with about 3,000 workers, working at 3 factories in Phu Yen and Muong Coi communes. Phu Yen Garment Factory - Tam Viet Garment Joint Stock Company in Gia Phu commune, with over 800 workers. In addition, there are more than 1,200 workers working at a number of other labor-using units in the area.
Every year, factories organize inspections and assessments of workers' skills to have appropriate training and coaching plans; at the same time, workers and laborers are required to strictly comply with regulations in each production shift, avoiding unfortunate accidents that may occur.
Mr. Bui Manh Dung, Director of Phu Yen Shoe Factory, informed: Since the beginning of 2025, the Factory has received many orders in large quantities. We have increased production to ensure on-time delivery and sufficient quantity for partners. Therefore, we always focus on improving workers' skills and ensuring labor safety, improving labor productivity. The Factory's Board of Directors has organized training and guidance for workers to use newly invested equipment and machinery to meet production requirements.
Ms. Lo Thi Bac, a worker at the Phu Yen Shoe Factory, said: The workshop management board directs to combine overtime with increased labor productivity. Therefore, during the production process, we speed up the sewing operations, each part of the product is carried out seriously, accurately and skillfully, meeting the overall progress of the production line. Due to overtime, income increases from 1.5 - 2 million VND/person/month.
With the role of caring for the legitimate rights and interests of workers, trade unions at enterprises regularly coordinate with the board of directors to build a safe working environment, minimizing work accidents and unfortunate incidents that may occur. Every year, enterprises and employers also coordinate with the Fire Police and Rescue Force to organize fire prevention and fighting training for workers and employees. Promote propaganda and raise awareness of workers about labor safety through trade union fairs and collective activities. In addition, they also supervise the assurance of policies on social insurance, health insurance, maternity, as well as other legitimate rights for workers and employees.
Ms. Luong Thi Thuy, a worker at Phu Yen Garment Factory, Tam Viet Garment Joint Stock Company, Gia Phu Commune, said: In addition to being equipped with masks, the factory also regularly organizes cleaning of the work area and workshop to limit the impact of dust on workers' health. Every year, we are examined, given health advice, and promptly detect cases of occupational diseases.
With many solutions to improve labor productivity, combined with ensuring workers' rights, laborers in Phu Yen, Gia Phu and Muong Coi communes have jobs and stable incomes of 6-7 million VND/month, contributing to ensuring social security in the locality.
