Chau Thanh Commune, Dong Thap Province was established on the basis of merging Tan Hiep, Long An, Than Cuu Nghia communes of Chau Thanh District, Tien Giang Province before. The new Chau Thanh Commune has a total area of 24.28 km2 with a population of 57,070 people. The commune has many favorable conditions for developing agricultural economy and trade - services.

Chau Thanh Commune Party Committee was established with 33 Executive Committee members, 11 Standing Committee members and 5 Inspection Committee members. Comrade Van Thi Tuyet, member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tan Hiep Town, Chau Thanh District, previously held the position of Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of the new Chau Thanh Commune.

In order to better serve the people, the leaders of the new Chau Thanh Commune People's Committee have proactively prepared equipment and materials to serve the needs of handling administrative procedures of the people in the commune at the Public Administration Service Center (the Department of receiving and returning documents of the former Chau Thanh District People's Committee). Currently, the Commune People's Committee has completed the installation of computer systems, scanners, network connection and software... ready to serve the people on July 1, 2025.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung, Vice Chairman of Chau Thanh Commune People's Committee, the Commune People's Committee has completed the construction of the Public Administration Service Center. The Commune People's Committee has completed the arrangement of civil servants at 5 counters to receive people's documents from July 1, 2025. The specialized departments of the Commune People's Committee have prepared working rooms, nameplates, full ceremonies as well as assigned specific tasks to each department, civil servant, and specialist ready to perform the task.
“Taking on new tasks in the locality, myself as well as the civil servants and specialists of the Commune People's Committee are aware that we will have to continue to improve and develop further to be able to serve well the administrative procedure settlement work of the people, as well as the socio-economic development of the new Chau Thanh commune,” said comrade Nguyen Thi Kim Phung.
