This achievement shows Vietnam's clear superiority over the other delegations. Second place is UAE with 16 medals (8 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze), followed by Kazakhstan with 20 medals (7 gold, 7 silver, 6 bronze).
The delegations in the Southeast Asian region ranked from fourth to seventh, including: Thailand (10 medals - 6 gold, 4 silver), Philippines (10 medals - 5 gold, 3 silver, 2 bronze), Malaysia (5 medals - 2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze) and Indonesia (8 medals - 1 gold, 3 silver, 4 bronze).
Vietnam takes convincing lead at Asian Muay Championship.
The tournament took place from June 20 to 25, bringing together more than 300 coaches, athletes and referees from 19 countries and territories. Athletes competed in 50 sets of medals in 28 combat weight categories and 8 technical performance events. The Vietnamese sports delegation participated with 50 athletes.
Head coach of the national Muay team, Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, commented: "In terms of expertise, the team has made significant progress compared to previous tournaments. However, we are not allowed to rest on our laurels. After this tournament, the athletes need to continue training to prepare for upcoming international tournaments. The big opponents are still Thailand, Kazakhstan and UAE... Only by preparing carefully and with the highest determination can we continue to succeed."
