Immediately after finishing as runner-up at VTV Cup 2025, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team immediately began training to prepare for the next tournaments. In the near future, the team will compete in the Shanghai Future Stars Cup 2025.
In this tournament, Vietnam sent a team with reserve players combined with some U23 players. The head coach is Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, while coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet focuses on the first team and the U21 team.
According to the draw results, the Vietnamese women's team is in Group A with the Chinese U21 team, the French youth team and the Bauru U21 team (Brazil). Group B includes Shanghai U21, Slovenian youth, Dutch youth and Canadian youth. The teams will compete in a round robin to determine the top two teams in each group to enter the semi-finals. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese athletes who rarely play to compete to improve their skills.
The reason why Bich Tuyen , Thanh Thuy, Khanh Dang, Bich Thuy, Vy Thi Nhu Quynh... will not participate in the Shanghai Future Stars Cup 2025 is because the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will have two consecutive important tournaments at the SEA V-League (stage 1 and stage 2 will take place in Thailand and Vietnam in August).
At VTV Cup 2025, Bich Tuyen was the best player of the host team Vietnam. In the final match against Korabelka Club (Russia), Bich Tuyen scored 47 points. Experts assessed that Bich Tuyen had the best match of her career up to now. At the end of the tournament, the 2000-born hitter was awarded the title of Best Opposite Setter and was included in the tournament's best lineup.
In the upcoming 2 SEA V-League stages, Bich Tuyen is still the main hitter of the Vietnam women's volleyball team. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet is adjusting the training volume for her and many other key players, continuing to overcome the limitations encountered in VTV Cup 2025 to improve themselves.
"At the VTV Cup, we create conditions for all players to compete to the best of their abilities. After the tournament, the team will continue to prepare for the SEA V-League 2025. This is a highly professional tournament with the participation of the four best teams in Southeast Asia," said coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet.
This year’s SEA V-League is important for regional teams to prepare for the SEA Games. According to research, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines all sent their strongest squads. This also means that the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team will know where they are to adjust for the SEA Games with the goal of winning the gold medal.
