Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang visits the Vietnamese community in Poland

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang expressed pride in seeing the Vietnamese community develop strongly, integrate deeply into the host society, and contribute positively to the socio-economic development of Poland.

During her working visit to Poland from July 5-8, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang visited and learned about the situation of the Vietnamese community in Poland. The delegation also included Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland Ha Hoang Hai.

The delegation met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Poland; visited the ASG shopping center in Warsaw and the headquarters of Tan Viet Group in Gdansk; met with Ms. Cao Hong Vinh, member of the Ochota District Council and President of the Hoang Sa-Truong Sa Club; met with Mr. Mai Hai Lam, founder of the WE LOVE PHO organization; attended the opening ceremony of the Vietnamese Summer Camp; visited Nhan Hoa Pagoda and Thien Phuc Pagoda.

The Vietnamese community in Poland has about 30,000 people, of which nearly 3,000 are local citizens, living mainly in Warsaw (80%), the rest live scattered in other cities and localities of Poland.

Vietnamese people in Poland have economic and intellectual potential, actively contribute to the local socio-economic development; have a spirit of solidarity, help each other, comply with local laws, and always look towards their homeland and country.

On July 5, at a meeting with the Vietnamese Association and dozens of Vietnamese organizations in Poland, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Poland, said that in the past time, the Association has always played a central role, promptly supporting the community, protecting the legitimate interests of the people, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, supporting Vietnamese people from Ukraine to Poland and the major fire at the Marywilska shopping center...

The Association is not only a place to connect the community but also a symbol of solidarity and mutual love, playing the role of a bridge between Vietnam and Poland in economic, cultural and social events.

The Vietnamese community in Poland always preserves and promotes national cultural identity through organizing many cultural events to meet the spiritual and mental needs of the people.

In the local society, the Vietnamese community is considered to be hard-working, united, responsible, and contributing to building friendly relations with the local government and people. In the country, they always turn to their homeland and country, actively participating in humanitarian and charitable activities to help their compatriots.

Along with the Vietnamese Association, other delegates representing community organizations in Poland such as Mr. Tran Trong Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Business Association; Ms. Tong Thu Huong, Chairman of the Vietnam Women's Union; Ms. Cao Hong Vinh, Member of the Ochota District Council in Warsaw City, Chairman of the Hoang Sa-Truong Sa Club; Ms. Nguyen Viet Trieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Women's Union in Europe... reported on the activities of the associations and had 18 recommendations and proposals related to the development of economic-trade, tourism, cultural-educational relations between the two countries, association work, law, preservation of the Vietnamese language, the overseas Vietnamese delegation visiting Truong Sa and the annual Summer Camp for overseas Vietnamese youth.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang expressed her pride in seeing the community develop strongly, integrate deeply into the host society, and actively contribute to the socio-economic development of Poland, continuing the increasingly strong friendship between Vietnam and Poland over the past 75 years.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the Vietnamese community in Poland as a united community, with a fairly complete system of associations and organizations in various fields, making many contributions to the country, and having initiatives for activities and movements of Vietnamese people abroad such as seminars on the East Sea, the establishment of the WE LOVE PHO organization, etc.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang affirmed that our Party and State always care for, look after, and value the resources of the overseas Vietnamese community; provide information about the domestic situation; answer people's suggestions and problems; and hope that people will contribute to the country's revival, in which science and technology are the foundation.

During the visit and working session with ASG Trade Center (July 5) and Tan Viet Group (July 6), the business community in Poland said they are transforming their business models after the Covid-19 pandemic and in the context of complicated developments in the world, affecting people.

In addition to traditional business methods, the trend of opening restaurants, nail salons, online sales, and combining retail and wholesale is growing strongly. Vietnamese businesses in Poland also made proposals on product inspection, logistics, and business connections to promote the export of Vietnamese goods to Poland.

Mr. Tao Ngoc Tu, Chairman of Tan Viet Group, emphasized the importance and investment in brand building, in the spirit of "think, do, otherwise you cannot go far", to develop sustainable trade.

Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang shared and highly appreciated the adaptation of Vietnamese enterprises in Poland, hoping that Vietnamese enterprises in Poland would actively contribute to the country's development in the new development stage, especially Resolution 57 of the Politburo on the development of science and technology and innovation, Resolution 68 of the Politburo on the development of the private economy, through the introduction of experts, intellectuals and specific projects.

On July 7, at a meeting with the Hoang Sa-Truong Sa Club, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang was moved to meet 35 overseas Vietnamese who are “Truong Sa soldiers” and their relatives in Poland; and updated information and policies of Vietnam on the issue of protecting sovereignty over seas and islands.

Appreciating the Hoang Sa-Truong Sa Club in particular and the Vietnamese community in Poland for implementing many practical activities to connect overseas Vietnamese, contributing to affirming and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang hopes that the Club will continue to spread the image and love of Vietnam's sea and islands to overseas Vietnamese in Poland, contributing to spreading the truth and justice of Vietnam to international friends.

Previously, attending the opening ceremony of the 10th “Happy with Vietnamese” Summer Camp in 2025 at Lac Long Quan Vietnamese Language School on July 7, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang praised the efforts of the Vietnamese community in Poland and teachers in spreading the passion for preserving Vietnamese culture and language in recent times, including activities in response to the annual Vietnamese Language Honor Day (September 8). The initiative to organize the Summer Camp should be replicated in the Vietnamese community in other countries.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang presented Vietnamese language textbooks to Lac Long Quan Vietnamese Language School and awarded Commemorative Medals to teachers to express gratitude for their outstanding contributions to Vietnamese language teaching in Poland.

With Vietnamese pagodas in Poland, the delegation acknowledged the merits of monks, nuns, and Buddhists of Vietnamese pagodas, while taking care of the spiritual life of the Vietnamese community in Poland, contributing to spreading and preserving solidarity and the good values ​​of Vietnamese Buddhism.

Poland is the first stop in the working visit to three countries (Poland, Denmark, Netherlands) of Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang from July 5-13.
