Van Quyet helps Vietnam All Stars beat Manchester Red

The friendly match on the evening of June 30 at Hang Day Stadium ended dramatically when Vietnam All Stars came from behind to beat Manchester Red 3-2 thanks to an impressive double from captain Nguyen Van Quyet.

Right after the opening whistle, the Manchester Reds showed the class and experience of former Premier League players when they quickly took the lead. Souza opened the scoring with a neat move in the penalty area. Just a few minutes later, Marc Fuller doubled the gap with an easy shot but goalkeeper Duong Hong Son made a mistake because the pitch was slippery and wet.

Not accepting being behind, the Vietnamese All Stars players pressed forward to attack. In the 21st minute, from a delicate pass from Le Huynh Duc, Van Quyet broke the offside trap, dribbled past the opposing goalkeeper before gently finishing into the empty net, narrowing the score to 1-2.

On June 27, the first leg friendly match between Manchester Red and Vietnam All Stars took place at Hoa Xuan Stadium, Da Nang with a 4-2 victory for the away team.
