AI is being widely applied in major hospitals.
In Vietnam, AI is widely used in major hospitals to support medical image analysis, helping doctors identify early signs of diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and lung disease. AI also supports medical record management, automates the process of storing and retrieving information, minimizes errors in data processing and improves work efficiency.
Prof. Dr. Thach Ngoc Nguyen, Vice Principal and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Tan Tao University.
Prof. Dr. Thach Ngoc Nguyen, Vice Rector and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Tan Tao University, said: “Currently, AI improves the accuracy of diagnosis, the most typical example is in X-ray, CT or EIA, the accuracy of diagnosis of artificial intelligence can be equal to that of doctors or even better. In addition, AI also optimizes the treatment process and personalizes medicine. AI supports the analysis of large data quality from patient records and tests to develop treatment strategies for each patient, which helps improve treatment effectiveness and minimize side effects.
In addition, AI also helps with clinical decision support and reduces the workload for doctors. With this issue, AI can suggest differential diagnoses, giving doctors more basis to make decisions faster, more accurately and warn of drug interactions or risks for users. This is one of the very important things in medical examination and treatment.
Changing the vision of AI in healthcare with applications in training
In the future, the healthcare industry aims to build a comprehensive healthcare system where AI not only supports but also optimizes the entire medical examination and treatment process. AI will help reduce diagnosis and treatment time, thereby reducing costs, helping patients access medical services quickly and accurately.
Students, please research and work with AI, and together with AI, create new knowledge.
AI will also play an important role in personalizing healthcare, providing appropriate treatments based on each individual’s unique characteristics. As a result, patients will have a comprehensive healthcare experience, with safe and effective treatment regimens.
According to Prof. Dr. Thach Ngoc Nguyen, AI also helps students to look up and improve their knowledge, find documents, update, do new research and can support students to have an overview, approach new problems better. An important thing is that AI can help simulate a clinical situation. Medical records help students practice diagnosing and providing treatment methods. In addition, AI can personalize learning, AI will create tests suitable for the level and level of students. Then from the theories supported by AI combined with clinical experience knowledge from teachers, the level of medical students will develop very quickly.
Prof. Dr. Thach Ngoc Nguyen believes in the bright future of commercial AI products manufactured in Vietnam.
Despite many challenges, AI opens up many opportunities in healthcare, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment and supporting doctors to discover new treatments, increasing the ability to cope with complex diseases.
Prof. Dr. Thach Ngoc Nguyen said: “Studying with AI is very important. Because we have to study like that to keep up with the progress of the world . If we only learn the basics, it will not be suitable for our learning ability and capacity. Therefore, with the AI trend, students should accompany AI, together with AI to create new knowledge”.
According to Prof. Dr. Thach Ngoc Nguyen, at the present time, the young generation of Vietnam should not only be great consumers, buying the latest information technology or AI products in the world, they must be the leaders in producing AI programs, AI algorithms, in the competition to establish new startups of this AI revolution. This competition is very fierce, but the chance of success is very high because Vietnam has enough human resources, capacity and will.
“Currently, our research team is working with PhD candidates in information technology from the University of Natural Sciences in Ho Chi Minh City to write a new AI program to study the flow in the coronary arteries. Our goal is to conduct cardiovascular research and commercialize our products including the AI program. I believe in the bright future of commercial AI products produced in Vietnam and widely used in the US and world markets,” added Prof. Dr. Thach Ngoc Nguyen.
