A flag route in Yen Dinh commune.
Before the "historic day" when the two-level local government officially came into operation (July 1, 2025), Mr. Nguyen Van Chinh, Head of Ward 9, Dong Son Ward (now Hac Thanh Ward) announced early on the loudspeaker for household to hang the national flag in front of their houses. Hundreds of household items in the street simultaneously hung the flags, decorating the streets brilliantly.
Hanging flags has become a tradition for households in the city, especially on occasions of celebrating holidays, anniversaries, and important events of the country, province, and locality. The flags are always carefully preserved by household so that the flag color is always new and the flag is always flat when hung...
As a resident living on Le Phu Street, Hac Thanh Ward, Ms. Doan Thi Thao expressed her joy about the national flag line where she lives: "When the ward officials promoted the hanging of the national flag, not only my family but all the households around here agreed to support it. The households contributed money to buy flags and flag poles to hang them properly, aesthetically and uniformly."
On the inter-village roads of Thieu Hoa commune, the red color of the national flag and pennants is everywhere. The flags are hung in solemn positions by household in the commune, contributing to beautifying the rural landscape. Secretary of the Party Cell of Doan Quyet Thuong village, Tran Van Viet, said: "The village has many roads that have been expanded, and at the same time, the flags are hung in the same position. On the main road of the village alone, 34 household donated nearly 1,600m2 to widen the road from 2.5m to more than 5m. Up to now, the road is clear, households have arranged their houses, gardens, and fences very neatly, and the flags are also hung more beautifully. On every occasion of an event, household hangs flags together, and I and the village cadres take the opportunity to check the roads, remind household to tidy up any flags that are not hung properly or if the wind rolls the flags up... Looking at the rows of flags and the road of flags in full bloom also makes the spirit rise, giving more motivation to work and strive"...
In Ve Thon village, Dinh Tan commune, Secretary of the village Party cell Trinh Dinh Van shared: "For a long time, the hanging of flags on major national holidays has been done by the people, however, this has not been done in a systematic and uniform manner in household and on each street, so it has not met the requirements of aesthetics and solemnity on important holidays. Based on that reality, the village has mobilized collective money to contribute money to buy flags, flag poles and hang flags simultaneously. During the implementation process, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations in the village are the core force in propaganda and mobilization, and at the same time directly supervise and inspect to ensure that the flag line is in accordance with the plan.
With the consensus and joint efforts of the government and the people, for many years now, the “National Flag Road” has been formed in the streets and villages. Especially during the time of the new rural construction units, advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas, and civilized urban areas. This is considered one of the “smart mass mobilization” models that organizations are interested in coordinating to implement. By hanging the national flag, it has contributedto educate patriotism for the people, union members, and association members.
The color of the flag adds more color, arousing love and national pride. Living in a time of peace with more and more changes, each of us when walking on the street covered with national flags, seeing with our own eyes the red flag with yellow stars fluttering in the wind, cannot help but be moved and moved. The red flag with yellow stars reminds people of patriotism, of revolutionary traditions, of the great sacrifices of our ancestors so that today's generation can have a prosperous and happy life.
