For decades, tourism in the North in general and Do Son in particular has been highly seasonal. Every year, only during the 4-5 summer months do coastal destinations really become bustling, while for the rest of the year, businesses and accommodations do not have any significant activities.
However, in recent years, this trend is gradually changing. Coastal localities have begun to increase investment in developing new tourism products and organizing cultural, sports, music and culinary events all year round, attracting a large number of tourists in the "off-season" months. Especially when the infrastructure lever is completed, places like Do Son are now accelerating strongly.

In Do Son, festivals such as "Do Son - Four Seasons Destination", light art programs, spiritual tourism, experiences of exploring the natural ecosystem at the estuary at the mangrove forest complex, international golf tournaments... have turned this land into a place that can be explored at any time of the year.
The traditional sea tourism model has been replaced by an integrated resort model: resort - entertainment - sports - culture, enhancing the experience for tourists. This change has brought sustainable growth to Do Son tourism in recent years, demonstrated through specific figures: In 2022, Do Son welcomed 1.93 million visitors, this number in 2023 was 2.95 million and in 2024 was more than 4 million.
Maintaining the growth momentum, in 2025, according to data from the People's Committee of Do Son district, the district plans to welcome 5 million tourists. In the first 6 months of the year, Do Son welcomed 2.79 million visitors, reaching 55.8% of the yearly plan and there are still peak summer months ahead for Do Son to accelerate beyond the set target. This shows that, throughout the winter and spring months of 2025, Do Son is still actively welcoming tourists from diverse recreational activities, no longer dependent on the spearhead of summer beach tourism as before.

In the vibrant picture of Do Son tourism today, Dragon Ocean Do Son International Tourist Area is the focal point. This is not only a leading urban resort - entertainment - sports complex in the North but is also gradually affirming its leading position for the strong breakthrough of the whole region.
With a scale of up to 480 hectares, Dragon Ocean Do Son converges a modern utility system including a 27-hole golf course according to international standards, a 1km long artificial beach, a light park, a Thuy Tinh water park, a commercial area and an international standard hotel Dream Dragon Resort... A representative of Dragon Ocean Do Son said that in the first 10 months of 2024, Dragon Ocean Do Son welcomed more than 3.5 million visitors, affirming the attraction of this complex to tourists.

In the first half of 2025 alone, dozens of new businesses have been put into operation at the Dragon Hill International Tourist Area, from mini hotels to cafes and restaurants. Many investors have received houses and put their products and services into operation, creating a new vibrant and bustling look for this tourist area.
“Previously, the service business in Do Son was only most bustling during the 4 summer months. Now, it welcomes guests almost all year round. Since operating the minihotel at Doi Rong, I have truly seen the profit potential of year-round tourism,” said Mr. Pham Quang Trung, investor of Phuong Dong Hotel, Doi Rong tourist area.
