Implementing the reservoir operation process in the Red River basin, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ordered the Director of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Company to open 1 bottom spillway gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir from 2:00 p.m. today (July 14).

At 7:00 a.m. on July 14, the upstream water level of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Reservoir was at 107.25 m, the downstream water level was 50.48 m, the flow to the reservoir was nearly 1,200 m3/s, the total flow to the downstream was 702 m3/s.

To ensure the safety of the reservoir, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment decided to open the bottom spillway. The discharge flow is forecast to be about ^{1,000-1,200m3} /s. The hydroelectric reservoir releases flood water, combined with heavy rain, which will cause water levels to rise on the river and stream systems. The water level of the Lo River in Tuyen Quang city is forecast to rise.

To ensure safety in production activities and daily life of people in the downstream areas, local authorities urgently notify aquaculture facilities, households, and waterway transport vehicles to proactively take response measures to ensure safety of people and property. People absolutely do not go to the river to collect firewood or catch fish when the flood water on the river rises.
