(TN&MT) - The 15th National Assembly has just approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Lieutenant General Tran Hong Minh to the position of Minister of Transport for the 2021-2026 term.

At the 8th Session, the 15th National Assembly approved the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Van Thang from the position of Minister of Transport, and at the same time approved the appointment of Mr. Nguyen Van Thang to the position of Minister of Finance .

In today's working session, November 28, the Prime Minister presented to the National Assembly the candidate for the position of Minister of Transport, Lieutenant General Tran Hong Minh - Secretary of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, member of the Party Central Committee, and delegate of the 15th National Assembly. The National Assembly approved the Prime Minister's proposal by secret ballot.

The Secretary General of the National Assembly said that the National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint Mr. Tran Hong Minh as Minister of Transport for the 2021-2026 term by electronic voting, with the following results: 452 delegates participated in the vote (equal to 94.36% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), 452 delegates approved (equal to 94.36% of the total number of National Assembly delegates).

Mr. Tran Hong Minh, born in 1967, in Hanoi city. He has more than 35 years of service, growing up in the military environment, through many positions such as: Commander of the Engineering Corps, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 1, Commander of Military Region 1, Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Defense Industry (Ministry of National Defense).

In September 2021, the Politburo assigned Mr. Tran Hong Minh to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and hold the position of Secretary of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Cao Bang province for the 2020-2025 term.
