The experts will also discuss and answer questions from the press.
The 2025 high school graduation exam is the first exam for students studying the 2018 generaleducation program.
However, to facilitate candidates studying the old program who have not graduated from high school or have graduated but take the exam to use the university admission results, the Ministry of Education and Training organizes the exam for both subjects studying the two programs, with two different sets of exam questions and different exam methods.
Candidates studying the 2006 program who have not yet graduated from high school will take 4 exams including math, literature, English and 1 of 2 combined exams: natural sciences (including physics, chemistry, biology) and social sciences (including history, geography, civics). Candidates taking the 2018 program will take 4 exams including math, literature and 2 elective exams from physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, history, geography, economics and law, and foreign languages.
According to the plan, the Departments of Education and Training and high schools will complete the recognition of high school graduation no later than July 18.
Departments of Education and Training will announce high school graduation results no later than July 20.
Units will print and send exam result certificates to candidates no later than July 22.
The collection of appeal applications and the preparation of the appeal list will take place from July 16 to July 25. The organization of the exam appeal (if any) will be completed no later than August 3.
In 2025, there will be 1,165,289 candidates registered to take the high school graduation exam, an increase of 93,894 compared to 2024 (1,071,395 candidates). Of which, 97.71% (1,138,579 students) will take the exam under the 2018 General Education Program; 2.29% (26,711 students) under the 2006 General Education Program.
Opening the meeting, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said that this was the first time the ministry had announced the score distribution to the press because this was the first exam under the new program, and parents and students were very interested. "We want experts to analyze and hope that the press will report promptly and objectively," said Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuong. Experts will have analysis based on their experience in testing.
According to information from the Ministry of Education and Training, over 1.12 million candidates took the Math exam, of which 513 candidates scored 10. Meanwhile, in 2024, the number of 10 scores was 0. In 2023, there were only over 200 10 scores. Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, and Hung Yen are the localities with many 10 scores.
Literature scores are relatively stable, but there are no 10s (in 2024 there were 2 10s).
