Toyota Vios Hybrid 2025 set launch date in Southeast Asia
Toyota Thailand distributor confirmed that it will launch Yaris ATIV Hybrid - a hybrid version of the familiar Toyota Vios sedan in Vietnam on August 21, 2025.

According to the announcement from Toyota Motor Thailand, the Yaris ATIV Hybrid sedan - the equivalent name of Toyota Vios in the Vietnamese market will be officially launched on August 21, 2025. This is the first time this car line has been supplemented with a version using a 1.5L hybrid (HEV) powertrain. Specifically, the car uses a 4-cylinder, DOHC, 1.5L gasoline engine coded 2NR-VEX, with a maximum capacity of 91 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and torque of 121 Nm at 4,000–4,800 rpm. Combined with an 80 horsepower, 141 Nm electric motor, the total system capacity reaches 111 horsepower.
Power is transmitted through an e-CVT automatic transmission, front-wheel drive. The car uses a 0.7 kWh lithium-ion battery, compatible with E20 fuel. According to Toyota, the Yaris ATIV Hybrid can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h and consume an average of only 26.3 km/liter of fuel - an impressive figure in the segment. The hybrid powertrain platform on the Yaris ATIV Hybrid is said to be shared with the previously launched Yaris Cross model, but it has likely been tweaked to better suit the driving style of the urban sedan. The expansion of the hybrid powertrain to the Yaris ATIV demonstrates Toyota's extensive electrification strategy in the Southeast Asian market, while opening up more fuel-efficient and smooth-running options for consumers. Not only outstanding in its new powertrain, the Yaris ATIV Hybrid also scores strongly with its rich list of amenities - a tradition of the ATIV line in the B-class sedan segment.
The car is equipped with many high-end features such as: 64-color interior lighting; Electronic handbrake with automatic brake hold; Smart key and push-button start; Entertainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; Automatic air conditioning with rear seat vents... Newly upgraded equipment helps Yaris ATIV Hybrid become one of the rare urban sedans that is "favored" with many amenities usually only found in higher segment cars. In terms of safety, Yaris ATIV Hybrid continues to maintain its advantage with a series of modern technologies. In addition to basic systems such as: Electronic balance VSC; Traction control; TRC Hill start assist; HAC Blind spot warning (BSM) Rear cross traffic alert (RCTA).
The new sedan is also equipped with the Toyota Safety Sense package as standard, including: Automatic emergency braking (Pre-Collision System); Lane departure warning & steering assist; Front vehicle movement warning; Pedal control to avoid accelerator pedal confusion; Full-speed adaptive cruise control (full-speed radar cruise control) 360-degree panoramic camera. Currently, Toyota is still keeping the price of the 2025 Yaris ATIV Hybrid secret. However, with the new hybrid powertrain, Toyota Safety Sense safety technology and a rich list of equipment, this model promises to become the "center of attention" of the urban sedan segment in Thailand as soon as it goes on sale. Bringing hybrid technology to the Vios line - one of the most popular car models in Vietnam - also makes many domestic users expect that Toyota Vios Hybrid will soon appear in the Vietnamese market in the near future.
