While most car dealerships strive to maintain a flawless image of their products, Toyota Surprise, an Arizona dealership, took a completely different approach: displaying a 2018 Camry LE that had been in a serious accident right in its showroom.
The car was involved in an accident while a dealership employee was driving to Sky Harbor Airport to pick up a customer. Suddenly, the Camry was hit from behind by a tractor-trailer, then continued to collide with a truck in front, creating a serious double collision.

The exterior of the car was significantly deformed at both ends, but remarkably the passenger compartment remained intact and the driver was able to get out without any injuries.
After the incident, the dealer posted pictures of the car on social media along with the real story, attracting great attention from the online community.

Not long after, they put the crashed Camry on display in the showroom, so customers could see with their own eyes what was left after the collision.
Dealerships also hold small demonstrations, explaining the crumple zone mechanism – the front and rear of the car are designed to deform in a controlled manner to minimize the force transmitted to the passenger compartment.

The image of a Camry sandwiched between two trucks may be heart-stopping, but the intact cabin and safe driver are the most powerful memories. The case is a living testament to the effectiveness of passive safety design, which is often overlooked compared to active driver assistance technologies.
In Vietnam, there is also a Subaru Forester on display at an authorized dealer in Ho Chi Minh City that was involved in an accident during a customer test drive in August 2022.

Accordingly, the Subaru Forester had an accident while the customer was test driving the car with a consultant sitting in the passenger seat, which occurred on August 6, 2022 in Thu Duc City. The cause of the accident was that the driver lost control, causing the car to crash and roll many times.
According to the dealer's description, after the series of collisions, the car was almost completely deformed, however the frame remained intact and the Boxer engine was designed to slide under the car during a head-on collision, and the fact that both people in the car were wearing seat belts helped both of them to be safe.

Immediately after this photo was spread, there were many conflicting comments. Specifically, some people said that for a car company that always emphasizes safety like Subaru, it is reasonable for them to publicly announce the capabilities that their products can bring to customers. This also helps customers have a more intuitive view of the product, while increasing the "trust" of users with the Subaru brand as well as the Forester model.
According to many auto experts, in an era where every brand talks about technology and convenience, daring to "show off" a car that has been in an accident becomes a memorable highlight - not only for experts but also for ordinary consumers.
