On the afternoon of July 7, in Hanoi, the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held a conference to announce and award decisions on promoting the rank of Colonel and raising the salaries of officers of the rank of Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel in 2025. Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, delivered a congratulatory speech and assigned tasks to officers who were promoted in rank and had their salaries increased in 2025.
Attending the conference were Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Department of Politics; Lieutenant General Truong Thien To, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the General Department of Politics; representatives of leaders and commanders of agencies and units under the General Department of Politics, and 160 officers who were promoted to the rank of Colonel and had their salaries increased to Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel in 2025.
