Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife meet with the Vietnamese community in France

Continuing his working program in France, on the evening of June 10, local time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife had a meeting with representatives of the Vietnamese community in France and officials and staff of Vietnamese representative agencies in France.

Also attending were leaders of ministries, branches and localities participating in the working delegation.

Reporting to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegation, Vietnamese Ambassador to France Dinh Toan Thang said that the Vietnamese community in France currently has more than 300,000 people; a large intellectual community of about 50,000 people and thousands of businessmen. The community is rich in tradition, always accompanying the country throughout history; always paying attention to preserving cultural identity and national traditions as well as always striving to build and develop a strong community movement, towards the homeland and the country. The community in France is extremely proud of the achievements that our country has achieved in all fields, proud of the Fatherland that is becoming famous in the region and internationally.

In 2025, the Vietnamese community in France solemnly organized many meaningful activities, recreating the heroic struggle of the nation, expressing gratitude to many generations who fought for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, while at the same time arousing national pride, strengthening community cohesion, and looking back to the roots.

In the solemn atmosphere of the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Bon, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in France, expressed his pride in the country's development achievements, believing that Vietnam will firmly step into the era of growth ; sharing joy with compatriots in the joyful atmosphere of the country's major holidays.

Affirming that throughout history, the Vietnamese community in France has supported the country not only because of patriotism but also because of the correctness of the Party's leadership, overseas Vietnamese wish to hear the Prime Minister update on Vietnam's vision in the coming time, especially on the "Four Pillars" guiding the development path, as well as the domestic expectations for the Vietnamese community in France.

On behalf of the Union of Vietnamese Youth and Students in France (UEVF), an association representing more than 15,000 young people and students, Mr. Nguyen Phan Bao Thuy expressed his satisfaction with Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation and Resolution 68 on private economic development, believing that under the leadership of the Party, the Government and directly the Prime Minister, Vietnam will witness a remarkable breakthrough.

In order to take advantage of the advantages of the young intellectual force in France - currently in its "golden period" with sufficient accumulation of both human resources and knowledge, Mr. Thuy proposed to establish a private institute in France as a focal point for orientation, research implementation, organization of activities, and connection of resources between France and Vietnam.

This facility will have the participation of dedicated individuals and businesses with technological and financial resources, and especially a team of young experts and intellectuals in key industries.

Ms. Hoang Cam Linh, representative of the Kite Association, said that the Association was established with the aim of preserving Vietnamese culture and language for the young generation of Vietnamese people in France. It has organized many Vietnamese language classes and extracurricular activities, thereby creating opportunities for children to practice Vietnamese, learn about national traditions, and spread Vietnamese cultural values in the French community and friends.

The Association highly appreciates initiatives and programs for overseas Vietnamese organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, such as the Vietnam Summer Camp, the Contest to Find Vietnamese Ambassadors, Vietnamese Teacher Training Classes, etc.; proposes to increase the quota for young people in France; organize more summer camps for children or military camp models; organize online Vietnamese teacher training classes in addition to in-person classes.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his joy and emotion at meeting a large number of overseas Vietnamese representing more than 300,000 of our compatriots in France.

Informing the people about the world and regional situation, the Prime Minister emphasized that in the context of rapid, complicated and unpredictable developments, Vietnam always emphasizes the importance of strengthening international solidarity, promoting multilateralism, and joining hands to solve global issues.

The Prime Minister said that this visit to France affirms Vietnam's determination to deepen the Vietnam-France Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. In the new context, Vietnam and France will continue to strengthen cooperation to create strategic pillars in new areas such as science and technology, defense and security; create breakthroughs in the fields of economics, investment and trade; and expand traditional areas of cooperation such as culture, education and health.

During the meetings, the Prime Minister asked French leaders to facilitate the Vietnamese community in France to integrate well into the host society, preserve Vietnamese cultural identity and language, make positive contributions to the French socio-economy, and play a good role as a bridge of friendship between the two countries, saying that French leaders highly appreciate our community as a successful community in all fields.

The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for the contributions of overseas Vietnamese and the Vietnamese community in France in particular to the country's overall achievements. In particular, the Vietnamese community in France has an extremely proud tradition, founded by President Ho Chi Minh himself, and is a typical example of the patriotic movement of the Vietnamese community worldwide. Overseas Vietnamese in France have supported and empowered the revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese people, sheltered and assisted the Paris Agreement negotiating team, "shared food and clothing" to support compatriots in the country during the arduous years of resistance; mobilized progressive people in France and around the world to participate in the anti-war movement, and actively contributed to the reconstruction and development of the country.

The Prime Minister also conveyed the sincere regards of General Secretary To Lam and other Party and State leaders to overseas Vietnamese. The Party and State always clearly identify their responsibility to care for the overseas Vietnamese community, support them to have a solid legal status, integrate into the host society; encourage and create conditions for them to be more attached to their homeland. In particular, the government is also resolutely directing the resolution of proposals, problems and difficulties of our overseas Vietnamese, especially nationality issues.

The Prime Minister informed the people about the situation of the country, the great achievements that our country has achieved after 50 years of ending the war, as well as the vision for national development, the major policies of the Party and State to create the position and strength to bring our country firmly into the era of strong and prosperous development. The Party and State have vigorously implemented the revolution to rearrange the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient. The Politburo has issued 4 breakthrough strategic resolutions on promoting science, technology and innovation; proactively integrating deeply into the international community; strongly developing the private economic sector; and comprehensively innovating the work of building and enforcing laws. These are strategic viewpoints that will resolve bottlenecks in mechanisms, creating strong momentum to bring our country forward in the new era.

Affirming that the Party and State always pay attention to the overseas Vietnamese community in general and the Vietnamese community in France in particular; considering the community an inseparable part of the flesh and blood, an important resource of the nation, the Prime Minister hopes that the Vietnamese community in France will always promote the spirit of solidarity, national pride, turn towards the homeland, contribute to the development of the country, promote the good values of the nation, and preserve the Vietnamese language for future generations.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the recommendations and proposals of the people, and at the same time requested relevant ministries, branches and agencies to focus on reviewing, researching, and soon having appropriate solutions in a timely and thorough spirit and implementing more drastic measures to meet the legitimate aspirations of our compatriots in France in particular and the overseas Vietnamese community in general.
