At the meeting, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong expressed his deep gratitude to the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic for the warm welcome, and emphasized the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, the two countries always trust and support each other in many international forums. The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, demonstrating sustainable development and solidarity through many generations.

The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, with nearly 100,000 people, has been playing an important role in promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two nations. The Deputy Minister emphasized that Vietnam is prioritizing the development of culture as a spiritual pillar of society and an endogenous driving force for sustainable development.
Vietnam and the Czech Republic signed a cooperation agreement in the fields of culture, education, science, youth and sports in 2016. Many cultural and artistic exchange activities have been successfully organized such as: Vietnam Cultural Year in the Czech Republic (2015), ASEAN Film Festival in the Czech Republic (2024), cooperation between the Vietnam National Academy of Music and the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra in Prague (2025), along with many exhibitions, film weeks, and art programs organized by both sides.
In addition, Deputy Minister Ho An Phong said that there is still a lot of potential for cooperation, especially in the field of cultural and film industries. The Deputy Minister proposed to increase the exchange of art troupes and cultural experts, coordinate the organization of bilateral and multilateral cultural events, promote connections between cultural and artistic institutions such as theaters, museums, orchestras, art festivals, etc. Vietnam also hopes that the Czech side will support the training of high-quality human resources, especially in the field of film set design.

Deputy Minister Ho An Phong invited the Czech side to attend major cultural events in Vietnam such as: Hue Festival, Hanoi International Film Festival, International Puppetry Festival, International Circus Festival... These are prestigious art playgrounds, attracting the attention of a large audience at home and abroad.
Regarding the proposal to establish a Czech Cultural Center in Vietnam, the Deputy Minister said that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has received an official diplomatic note from the Czech Embassy in Vietnam and is coordinating to guide procedures in accordance with Vietnamese law.

In response, Czech Deputy Minister of Culture David Kaspar highly appreciated the good traditional relations between the two countries, affirming that the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic is a model of integration and positive contribution to the development of the country. Deputy Minister David Kaspar also praised Vietnamese cuisine, which, according to him, has become an indispensable part of Czech cultural life.

The Czech Ministry of Culture is ready to support the organization of training courses for non-professional artists and the translation of Vietnamese literary and artistic works into Czech to widely promote Vietnamese culture to the local public, said the Czech Deputy Minister of Culture. At the same time, the Czech side will seek funding sources from the state and private sector to support joint art projects and bring Vietnamese artists to perform and exchange.

Deputy Minister David Kaspar also suggested that museums, theaters, art galleries, and music groups of the two countries increase their proactive cooperation; at the same time, closely coordinate with the Czech Embassy in Vietnam to expand the connection network. He suggested that Vietnam actively participate in annual events in the Czech Republic such as international film, music, circus, and theater festivals, events that attract a large number of domestic and international audiences. On this occasion, the Deputy Minister invited Vietnam to participate in the 16th Film Set Design Festival in the Czech Republic, scheduled to be held in 2027.

Both sides agreed to continue supporting each other at multilateral cultural cooperation forums, especially within the framework of UNESCO. The meeting took place in a friendly and open atmosphere, bringing high expectations for strong development in the cultural cooperation between Vietnam and the Czech Republic in the coming time.
