All type II communes in Hai Duong will be assigned 2 Vice Chairmen of People's Committees.

Director of the Department of Home Affairs Sai Thi Yen reported on the proposal to arrange the number of Vice Chairmen of Commune People's Committees at commune-level administrative units for the period 2021 - 2026.

On the morning of November 4, after hearing a report on the proposal to arrange the number of Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee at commune-level administrative units for the 2021-2026 term, the Steering Committee for the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the province for the 2023-2025 period agreed in principle to arrange 2 Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee for type II commune-level administrative units.

According to the report of the Department of Home Affairs, the province currently has 235 commune-level administrative units (178 communes, 47 wards, 10 towns). Of these, there are 22 type I commune-level administrative units, 194 type II units and 19 type III units.

Currently, all type I commune-level administrative units have been assigned 2 Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee; all type III units have been assigned 1 Vice Chairman of the People's Committee.

However, implementing the province's policy from June 2021, currently only 14 administrative units at the commune level of type II are assigned 2 Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee, while 180 units currently have only 1 Vice Chairman of the People's Committee.

The province agreed to allow all administrative units at the level of communes of type II to be arranged with 2 Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee of the commune in the coming time, which will facilitate the arrangement of administrative units at the commune level; reduce the work pressure for the leaders of the People's Committee of the commune at present, especially for places where the Party Secretary is also the Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune; at the same time, speed up the progress and improve the quality of handling local work.

The Steering Committee assigned the Department of Home Affairs to guide district-level units to deploy the arrangement of the number of Vice Chairmen of Commune People's Committees in communes, wards and towns.
