The training course took place from July 7 to 12, 2025 with the participation of 389 trainees who are officials, teachers, and lecturers representing 20 provinces and cities, 2 high schools under the Ministry of Education and Training , 25 centers for national defense and security education (GDQPAN), 32 universities and colleges in the Northern region.
Speaking at the opening of the training course, Major General Tran Ngoc Thanh - Director of the Department of National Defense and SecurityEducation (Ministry of Education and Training) emphasized: National Defense and Security Education for students plays an important role in the Party's revolutionary line and the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
In recent years, the work of national defense education for students at educational institutions across the country has gradually become routine and achieved many encouraging results. Students have been well equipped with patriotism, national pride, necessary military skills, awareness, responsibility, and self-awareness in performing national defense and security tasks, protecting the Fatherland.
The results have demonstrated the attention and responsibility of educational institutions in leading, directing and organizing the implementation of national defense education tasks, especially the decision and direct role of the team of managers, teachers and tutors of national defense education in educational and training institutions.
In the coming years, the world and regional situation is forecast to continue to develop in a complex and unpredictable manner. The cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland of our people under the leadership of the Party is facing many opportunities, favorable conditions and intertwined difficulties and challenges.
Implementing the policy of streamlining the state administrative apparatus and organizing two-level local government, the work of national defense education for students in educational institutions has contained many major changes in both management and implementation. Strengthening national defense education for students is an important task, contributing to protecting the Fatherland early and from beyond.
Emphasizing the importance of the training course to improve the capacity of the management staff, teachers, and lecturers teaching the National Defense Education subject in terms of content, organization, teaching methods, and practice, Department Head Tran Ngoc Thanh requested the reporters to promote a sense of responsibility and convey the content according to the assigned topics.
The comrades in charge of management, teachers, and tutors of national defense and security education participating in the training course must strictly comply with the regulations of the Organizing Committee; fully grasp the content, programs, and teaching methods of the subject. After returning to their units, they must develop plans and organize retraining for the comrades in charge of management, teachers, and tutors of their units in accordance with the regulations.
During the training, the trainees were introduced to 9 topics by the reporters from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of National Defense; thereby unifying and updating knowledge about non-traditional security and non-traditional security threats, in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning the subject of National Defense Education in schools.
