According to VietNamNet statistics, by the end of June 2025, BIDV was the only bank to announce average lending and deposit interest rates for June.
Most commercial banks have announced average lending and deposit interest rates for May, except for a few banks that have so far only announced interest rates for February or March.
Compared to January 2025, the average lending interest rates of most banks have decreased, as of the most recent announcement.
The banks leading in average lending interest rate reduction (May compared to January) are: TPBank (down 0.79%/year); VIB (down 0.64%/year), OCB (down 0.47%/year) and Agribank (down 0.26%/year).
In particular, VIB Bank announced in detail the average lending interest rate for individual and corporate customers as 6.48%/year and 5.98%/year respectively.

On the contrary, the average lending interest rate in May at banks: SCB, LPBank, BaoViet Bank, MB increased slightly compared to January, the increase was from 0.02-0.04/year. SCB, LPBank and MB are still in the group of banks with the lowest average lending interest rates in the market.
Some banks also increased their average lending rates compared to January but have only announced average interest rates for February, March, or April, including: Viet A Bank, GPBank, Techcombank, Eximbank, and SeABank.
The interest rate increase of these banks is from 0.15-0.41%/year. However, because the banks have not announced the average lending interest rate for May, the comparison is only relative.
Among the four state-owned commercial banks, which play a major role in “restraint” in interest rates and shaping the interest rate level, VietinBank has not yet announced information on the average lending interest rate in May (in January 2025, VietinBank announced the average lending and deposit interest rates at 5.6% and 3.3%/year, respectively).
Of the remaining 3 banks in this group, BIDV is the first bank to announce its average lending interest rate in June at only 5.5%/year.
The difference between the average lending and average deposit interest rates at BIDV is 2.53%/year. The difference between the average interest rates after deducting costs related to capital mobilization and capital use is 1.36%/year.
At Vietcombank, the average lending interest rate in May as announced is 5.6%/year. The average lending/mobilization interest rate difference is 2.8%/year. The interest rate difference after deducting the cost of mobilization and capital use is 1.2%.
At Agribank, the average lending interest rate in May was 6.54%/year. The average lending/mobilization interest rate difference was 2.82%/year, the interest rate difference after deducting the cost of mobilization and capital use was only 1.14%/year.
Among the remaining banks, although belonging to the group of banks increasing interest rates, SCB is still the bank that announced the lowest average lending interest rate currently (5.4%/year).
Next are the banks: BIDV (5.5%/year), Vietcombank (5.6%/year), MSB (6.35%/year), VIB (6.48%/year),... with interest rates among the lowest in the market.
On the contrary, the group of banks announcing the highest average lending interest rates at the time of the most recent announcement included: Viet A Bank (9.71%/year); Saigonbank (8.98%/year), BaoViet Bank (8.97%/year), Bac A Bank (8.66%/year), BVBank (8.57%/year), KienLong Bank (8.27%/year) and PVCombank (8.15%/year).
This is also the group of banks that maintains the largest average difference between lending and deposit interest rates. Of which, the interest rate difference at Viet A Bank is 4.06%/year and at Saigonbank is 4.10%/year.
However, the average lending interest rate of banks is not the interest rate applied to each specific loan. Therefore, customers should contact the nearest bank branch or transaction office for advice and more detailed information about the bank's credit programs and preferential programs.
At some banks, consumer loan interest rates remain stable or only increase slightly, to stimulate customers' demand for loans.
In addition, banks are also implementing many preferential interest rate programs to attract customers to borrow capital, especially in the real estate and production and business sectors. However, customers need to pay attention to the accompanying loan conditions and calculate carefully before deciding to borrow.
