The Provincial Women's Union presided over and coordinated the organization of the "Knowledge of mothers and children's health" contest in Dam Ha district (May 2025).
From the beginning, the Provincial Women's Union advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue Plan No. 23/KH-UBND (February 5, 2018), and at the same time issued documents guiding and directing the implementation of the Project in accordance with local realities. The content of the Project is effectively integrated with emulation movements and major campaigns, such as: "Women actively study, work creatively, build happy families", "Build families of 5 no, 3 clean", "All people unite to build a cultural life" ... along with many topics on food safety, prevention of domestic violence, child care and protection.
From 2017 to present, the Association at all levels has coordinated to organize more than 252,700 communications and training sessions on ethics, law, parenting skills, food safety, and abuse prevention. In addition, 100% of the Association's specialized staff at all levels have been thoroughly trained with 111 training courses, equipped with skills in consulting, monitoring, detecting, and supporting situations related to gender-based violence, human trafficking, HIV/AIDS, and food safety. Communication activities are organized in a variety of ways such as dramatization, seminars, forums, and legal advice at schools, residential areas, industrial parks, etc., attracting a large number of people to participate.
A highlight in the implementation of Project 938 in Quang Ninh is the construction and development of models to support women in solving social problems. The province currently has more than 52,000 models/clubs operating effectively, attracting over 580,000 members. Of these, there are 319 economic development models; nearly 50,000 environmental protection models such as "Women's groups collecting waste", "Sorting waste at home", "Turning waste into money"; 2,384 cultural models, happy families; 212 security and order models... Many practical models such as women's groups collecting waste, building happy families, mobilizing husbands and children to quit drugs, preventing social evils, contributing to solving social problems in the community.
In order to promptly handle cases of violence and abuse, the Women's Union at all levels has organized communication on prevention of sexual abuse and domestic violence for 62,264 women and girls. Thereby, 19 cases of child sexual abuse and 60 cases of domestic violence were detected and supported in handling; of which, 10 serious cases were connected to livelihood services, legal advice, temporary shelter support and crime reporting...
The Provincial Women's Union coordinated with the Ba Che District Women's Union to organize a dramatization contest on "Gender equality and prevention of domestic violence" (May 2025).
Along with that, the Provincial Women's Union has chaired many important thematic supervisions on public services of household waste collection; female workers at FDI enterprises; allowances and funding for grassroots Union officials; support policies for women's branches in villages, hamlets, and neighborhoods... The recommendations after supervision have been accepted and adjusted by authorities at all levels and functional agencies to suit reality. In addition, the Union has also proactively participated in giving opinions and social criticism on draft legal documents such as the Labor Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, theEducation Law... contributing to ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of women and children.
A notable result is that the proportion of women elected to elected bodies is increasing, with 37.5% of the XV Provincial National Assembly deputies being female, the Provincial People's Council reaching 40.9%, the District People's Council 34.05% and the Commune People's Council 36.36%. This shows that women are increasingly trusted and hold important positions in the local leadership apparatus.
In the period up to 2027, the Provincial Women's Union determined to continue to promote the effectiveness of Project 938, focusing on issues such as domestic violence, food safety, parenting education, and prevention of abuse of women and children. Specific objectives: Equipping knowledge for 300,000 members and parents with children under 16 years old; training self-defense skills for 160,000 women and girls; providing professional training for 100% of the Union's officials; supporting 2,000 women at risk of violating the law to change their behavior positively. The Union also maintains and replicates the social support model at the grassroots level; strengthens coordination, supervision, and policy proposals; organizes communication and training in diverse forms, suitable for each target group.
