At this year's Da Nang Asian Film Festival, the Asian film category received much attention. Among them, Rain on the Butterfly Wings was the only Vietnamese representative competing. In response to questions about whether there was favoritism for "family members" in this playground, People's Artist Minh Chau - a member of the jury, said that fairness was still the criterion she put first when taking on the position of "holding the scales of justice". The veteran artist added: "Of course I am Vietnamese, my feelings for the Vietnamese people are greater, but I think that a work of art should be evaluated properly, according to the criteria and according to what the film crew expressed, fairness is still my own criterion".
People's Artist Minh Chau said that this is the first time she has participated as a judge at DANAFF. She shared: "In the Asian Film category, I am the only Vietnamese, the rest of the members are foreigners. I think the organizers have definitely made calculations to balance the countries and each country has a participating film. I think with my knowledge, qualifications and experience in the profession, my assessment is not different from the other members of the jury."
The artist also shared that she is very excited and looking forward to enjoying the films competing in the Asian Film category at DANAFF III. She hopes that the works will bring the audience new perspectives, new ways of making films by the artists, along with attractive and quality movie-watching experiences.
Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan hopes that DANAFF III will be a playground for Vietnamese and Asian filmmakers to compete.

Following the success of the previous two editions, the Da Nang Asian Film Festival has the idea of honoring the heritage of Vietnamese and Asian cinema, while discovering and creating opportunities to nurture young talent. DANAFF III has two key programs, including Imprints of Vietnamese Films on the theme of war. "We have selected 22 films to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army. In addition to screening films so that you can enjoy works from the past 50 years, the audience can also meet film crews, artists... This is the first time such a large number of war films have been gathered with today's perspective on the past 50 years of Vietnamese cinema," Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan shared.
Regarding the Korean Cinema Spotlight program, Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan said that the message of the Da Nang Asian Film Festival is "Asian Bridge". Therefore, the organizing committee wishes to introduce regional cinemas, then cinemas around the world. "If choosing cinema to study, perhaps Korean cinema is an effective model. We hope to have closer access to a rapidly developing cinema like Korean cinema and hope that the audience can fully admire Korean cinema at DANAFF III", the Chairman of the Vietnam Association for Cinema Promotion and Development shared more.
