Heavy rain all night, rising water, border commune officials in Nghe An stay up all night to guard flood-proofing machines at public administrative service center

Continuous heavy rains caused flooding in many communes in Western Nghe An, causing much damage to roads, houses, property... The Tam Thai Commune Public Administration Service Center had water flooding the first floor, threatening to damage machinery and equipment.

On the morning of July 7, Chairman of Tam Thai Commune People's Committee Lo Duong Khanh said that in the late afternoon and night of July 6, heavy rain occurred in the commune for many hours, causing severe flooding in some locations.

specifically, at the Public Administration Service Center of the commune located at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Tam Thai commune (old) on the night of July 6, water flooded the first floor. Due to the situation of rain lasting for many hours, Tam Thai commune officials assigned people to be on duty and closely monitor the weather developments.

By midnight, the water rose to the first floor of the Commune Administrative Service Center, threatening to submerge machinery and equipment. Commune People's Committee officials had to move some machinery and equipment, raise jacks, and stay on duty all night to deal with the situation.

By the early morning of July 7, the rain had stopped and the water had gradually receded. However, the commune's Public Administration Service Center is still flooded with mud on the floor and yard, so it is necessary to mobilize forces to clean up before it can operate.

Also due to heavy rain all night, some roads in the commune were flooded, local authorities temporarily banned traffic to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

specifically, the overflow bridges from Tam Thai commune (old) to Tam Hop commune (old) were flooded, making it impossible for people to cross. Flooding was especially severe at the overflow bridge in Khoi village and the overflow bridge in Xoong Con village.

Tam Thai commune was merged from Tam Thai and Tam Hop communes, with its headquarters located in Tam Hop commune. As of the morning of July 7, commune officials were still on duty to monitor the situation and direct traffic.
