Pepper price today August 7, 2025: Slight increase again

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), domestic pepper prices are currently low because people and speculators continue to hold onto goods in the expectation that prices will recover more strongly in the third and fourth quarters.

The hoarding mentality causes a short-term decrease in supply to the market, creating temporary scarcity in the country.

Indonesia is expected to start harvesting in July, while Brazil will enter its harvest season in the middle of this year. If supply from these two countries increases sharply, global pepper prices may continue to be under pressure.
