According to the Manchester Evening News , the Red Devils could let Malacia leave for just £3.22 million, a minimum fee to avoid losses under the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Previously, the Red Devils recruited Malacia for £12.9 million. Celtic showed interest in Malacia during the winter transfer window and could return this summer.
Malacia was expected to join MU as coach Erik ten Hag's first signing in 2022. However, the Dutch player has had a difficult time at Old Trafford.
After a promising start to the season, Malacia suffered a serious knee injury, which, along with subsequent complications, ruled him out for the entire 2023/24 season. Since then, Malacia has been on a downward spiral and has lost his chance to play.
Malacia is one of five players at MU who have been told they could leave this summer. Coach Amorim has just added new signing Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno to the left-back position. In addition, the "Red Devils" also have Luke Shaw, Patrick Dorgu and Diogo Dalot taking on this role.
Malacia personally hopes to find a new destination in this transfer window to have the opportunity to play more regularly.
