Schedule of Thinking Assessments in 2025 of Hanoi University of Science and Technology

NDO - In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to organize Thinking Assessment - TSA in 3 rounds at 30 testing locations, serving about 75,000 test takers. In addition to the previous testing locations, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will open new testing locations to support students in the Northwestern provinces.


On November 2, Hanoi University of Science and Technology informed that to serve the 2025 university entrance exam, the Thinking Assessment - TSA exam is expected to be held in 3 rounds on weekends in the first months of 2025.

Each session will have 3 to 4 test teams at 30 test sites. In addition to the previous test sites, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will open a new test site to support students in the Northwestern provinces (test site in Lao Cai province). Accordingly, the exam can accommodate about 75,000 test takers.

The exam schedule is as follows:

- Round 1: Exam date 18-19/1/2025; Registration opening date 1-6/12/2024

- Round 2: Exam date 8-9/3/2025; Registration opening date 1-6/2/2025

- Round 3: Exam date 26-27/4/2025; Registration opening date 1-6/4/2025

The Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) test of Hanoi University of Science and Technology aims to assess three basic thinking abilities of students, including: Mathematical Thinking, Reading Comprehension and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving - important factors that help students to study best in a universityeducation environment.

The TSA exam is organized in a streamlined and efficient manner, applying advanced testing technologies, approaching modern thinking assessment exams in the world, such as SAT, ACT...

Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that in order to comply with the new general education program of the Ministry of Education and Training, from 2023, the content and format of the TSA exam have been implemented according to the design and will remain stable for many years to come.

Accordingly, the test consists of 3 parts: Mathematical Thinking (60 minutes), Reading Comprehension (30 minutes) and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving (60 minutes). These are 3 independent parts, the test questions will focus on assessing the thinking ability of the candidate in each part, not directly testing the knowledge of any subject.

The test is in the form of multiple choice tests on computers, and the test results will be valid for 2 years to serve the university admission work. Many modern testing technologies have been applied to the exam such as the technology of building standardized thinking test questions, bridge theory in the exam, technology of scoring according to the multi-parameter IRT model, automatic check-in technology according to Citizen Identification Card integrated with the personal data management system on the National Population Database to identify candidates coming to take the exam to completely prevent cheating and cheating in exams.
