This year's exam, taking place on June 26 and 27, Son La province has 38 exam locations, with 581 exam rooms arranged at high schools, junior high schools and high schools; boarding schools for ethnic minorities in 12 districts, towns and cities; with 2,300 officials, teachers, staff and other forces participating in serving the exam. This is the first year of organizing the exam according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program, with many new points compared to previous years in terms of exam methods and structure, exam questions, calculation of admission and graduation scores, and exam organization procedures.
At the end of the two days of the exam, most of the students were in a relaxed and happy mood because they had made efforts and completed this important exam. According to the assessment, this year's exam closely followed the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training , ensuring knowledge and skills standards, reasonable differentiation, enhancing practical application, closely following the direction of innovation; creating favorable conditions for candidates to complete the test within the scope of knowledge learned, effectively serving both the graduation and admission goals to colleges and universities.
Most notable is the change in the way the Literature exam is given, introducing the argumentative topic "Every homeland's sky is the Fatherland's sky", which is highly relevant in the current context. The exam requires higher skills in text analysis and independent thinking, and the ability to grasp current issues of candidates. Immediately after finishing the exam, the majority of candidates commented that this year's exam was new, the topic was broad but within their ability.
Student To Ngoc Anh, Son La High School for the Gifted, shared: This year's Literature exam is very good, closely following the knowledge and skills that teachers have reviewed. Not only that, the topic of this year's exam is also very close, creating opportunities for candidates to freely create and express their thoughts.
However, according to the feedback of many candidates for Math and English this year, there are many difficult questions with high classification. For students with average academic performance, they can get 5-6 points, completing the graduation goal. As for students with good academic performance, candidates can get higher scores from 7-8. Those who are really good and excellent can get 8-9 points or higher. Thereby, they can achieve both the graduation goal and the university and college entrance goal.
The organization of the exam at 38 exam sites was carried out synchronously and closely, ensuring compliance with regulations and professional requirements. During the exam organization, the Department of Education and Training closely coordinated with all levels, sectors and localities to strengthen propaganda, protect exam papers, prevent and combat cheating, especially the use of high-tech equipment in the exam... All exam sites have specific plans to ensure absolute safety of exam papers and exam papers; discipline was tightened, during the exam, there was 1 candidate who violated the regulations and was suspended from the exam according to regulations.
Accompanying the candidates, there is the cooperation of all levels, sectors, armed forces, youth union members, and association members throughout the province. The Provincial Youth Union mobilized nearly 1,000 volunteers to support at 38 exam locations, assigned to specialized teams, including: Teams to guide and direct traffic; provide water and snacks; logistics - first aid; free motorbike taxis and psychological support, inspiring candidates positively. Before the campaign, 100% of the volunteers were trained in skills to handle emergency situations due to natural disasters or support candidates in special cases, communication, behavior, civility, etc.
During the 3 days of the exam, the provincial Youth Union supported nearly 10,000 bottles of water, 5,000 snacks, 4,000 cold towels, thousands of raincoats, pens, hand fans; supported 250 free and cheap accommodations for candidates in difficult circumstances, in remote areas... with a total cost of more than 500 million VND.
In particular, candidate Lo Van Viet, a student of class 12A8, Tong Lenh High School, Thuan Chau District, had acute appendicitis one day before the exam and had to undergo emergency surgery at Cuoc Song Hospital. In order to not let him miss the graduation exam, the hospital provided an ambulance and assigned a doctor to take care of him and take him to the exam.
In addition to material and spiritual support for candidates, the province also directed the development of plans for ensuring security and order and handling emergency situations very early. The constant presence of police, medical, and electricity forces... helped to prevent any incidents during the exam.
Mr. Nguyen Van Chien, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, assessed: With the viewpoint of "Taking students as the center, the subject - teachers as the driving force - schools as the support - families as the support - society as the foundation", with careful, thorough preparation, close attention from all levels, sectors, localities, and the efforts of candidates, the 2025 High School Graduation Exam in the province took place safely, smoothly, seriously, objectively, thoughtfully, compactly, reliably, effectively, reducing pressure, reducing costs and creating consensus. 38/38 exam sites in the province have actively and synchronously deployed work with a high sense of responsibility.
The 2025 high school graduation exam in Son La ensures safety, seriousness and compliance with regulations, closing the 12-year journey of high school students, opening a new chapter in their journey to adulthood.
