At the meeting, the leaders of Son La Newspaper, Radio and Television informed about the unit's operations. Accordingly, Son La Newspaper, Radio and Television officially came into operation from July 1, 2025 on the basis of merging and reorganizing Son La Newspaper and the provincial Radio and Television Station; with 7 specialized departments, including: Office; Editorial Secretary; Reporter; Electronics and Digital Content; Technology; Ethnic and Foreign Languages; Arts and Entertainment.

The merger of the two units and reorganization into Son La Newspaper and Radio and Television is a necessary step in the innovation of the political system in the province, contributing to restructuring the organization and streamlining the apparatus in accordance with the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW and the guiding viewpoints of the Central and the province; strengthening unity in direction and administration; avoiding overlapping functions and tasks; synchronizing content and methods of operation; improving efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

Son La Newspaper, Radio and Television is the mouthpiece of the Provincial Party Committee, performing press activities with the following forms: Print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, press photos. At the same time, developing content on digital media platforms, social networks, ensuring compliance with the principles and purposes of press agencies and current laws.
