This is one of the key tasks in the period of administrative unit rearrangement and conversion of the 2-level government organization model in localities. Vietnam Post identifies this as an important political task, playing a key role in ensuring smooth, continuous and effective service to the people, even in areas far from the center.
On the first day of implementation, the Corporation conducted field inspections at more than 700 communes - accounting for about 25% of communes nationwide and arranged 8,000 officers and employees to support the Commune People's Committees, including:
3,340 staff were mobilized to 3,321 People's Committees of communes/wards/special zones;
3,321 postmen are responsible for delivering administrative procedure settlement results to people;
Nearly 1,400 permanent staff are ready to support when unexpected needs arise.
Mr. Chu Quang Hao, General Director of Vietnam Post Corporation said: “100% of the staff participating in the support have been trained and professionally trained, ensuring sufficient capacity to support people in carrying out administrative procedures at the commune level. The post office has also been fully equipped with facilities, uniforms, and vehicles, and is ready to coordinate with local authorities.”
Postal staff at the Public Administration Service Center (PASC) at the commune level will perform the following tasks: guiding people and businesses in preparing and submitting documents; supporting the implementation of online public services; digitizing documents; transferring documents to the handling agency and vice versa; returning handling results; and receiving feedback and complaints about the process of handling administrative procedures.
The coordination between the Post Office and local authorities was assessed as close and effective right from the first days of implementation. The representative of Dong Hy commune government ( Thai Nguyen ) affirmed that the Thai Nguyen Provincial Post Office had coordinated promptly, helping the Center increase human resources and improve the quality of service to the people.
Previously, Vietnam Post had experience in implementing public administrative services since 2018, and since 2021, it has coordinated with localities to arrange more than 600 employees at the One-Stop Department at all levels according to Decision No. 468/QD-TTg.
With a network of more than 13,000 service points nationwide, Vietnam Post is increasingly affirming its role as an "extended arm" of the government, contributing to building a modern administration that is close to and serves the people.
