Opening the trading session this morning (July 3), the Vietnamese stock market improved. As of 9:30, the VN-Index increased by 4.67 points, reaching 1,389 points. The VN30-Index increased by 8.2 points; the HNX-Index increased by 0.25 points; and the UPCoM-Index increased by 0.34 points.
The value of matched transactions on the market reached more than 4,500 billion VND. The board leaned towards green with 165 codes increasing in price, one code hitting the ceiling; 54 codes standing at the reference price and 94 codes decreasing in price.

At 8:00 p.m. on July 2 (Vietnam time), General Secretary To Lam had a phone call with US President Donald Trump about Vietnam-US relations and negotiations on reciprocal taxes between the two countries.
General Secretary To Lam and President Donald Trump welcomed the two countries' negotiating delegations' agreement on the Vietnam-US Joint Statement on the Framework for a Reciprocal, Fair and Balanced Trade Agreement.
President Donald Trump appreciated Vietnam’s commitment to providing preferential market access for US goods, including large-engine cars. He affirmed that the US will significantly reduce reciprocal tariffs on many Vietnamese exports and will continue to cooperate with Vietnam in resolving difficulties affecting bilateral trade relations, especially in areas that both sides prioritize.
US stocks also hit a record high as the S&P 500 rose 0.47% to a record 6,227 points. The Nasdaq Composite rose 0.9% to a new high of 20,393 points. However, the DJIA index fell 10.5 points, or 0.02%.
