On the morning of July 1, Market Management Team No. 2 ( Ha Tinh Market Management Department) coordinated with relevant units to inspect food safety and hygiene at Hom market, Duc Tho commune. This inspection mainly focused on processed food items, which are commonly sold in the market such as vermicelli, cakes, ham, sausage... These are foods that are easily contaminated with bacteria, if not properly preserved, or the production and processing process is not hygienic.
The authorities have inspected the origin of raw materials, processing and storage conditions, and product labeling; taken food samples for rapid testing of microbiological indicators and prohibited additives. Initial results show that most traders comply with food safety regulations. All tested products are negative for borax, meaning they meet food safety standards for borax content. The delegation also propagated and reminded business households at Hom market to continue raising awareness and complying with legal regulations on food safety; at the same time, recommended people to choose food with clear origin and quality inspection for use.
