Regarding the case of being accused of selling diseased pork, on the morning of July 2, the Vietnamese Government issued a statement on the results of handling information about the crime by the Soc Trang Provincial Police. Accordingly, the Vietnamese Government showed no signs of violating food safety regulations.

The announcement stated that, in response to information circulating on social networks and some media outlets claiming that CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company violated food safety regulations in Soc Trang province, central and local authorities quickly launched an investigation to fully verify the incident.

Specifically, on May 30, 2025, a Facebook account named "Jonny Lieu" posted a complaint titled "Complaint about violations of food safety laws", accusing the Vietnamese government of bringing substandard pork and poultry to the market through the Fresh Shop store in My Xuyen district, Soc Trang province.

Given the complicated developments of the case, the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (C05 - Ministry of Public Security ) has directed the Hau Giang Provincial Police, Soc Trang Provincial Police and relevant agencies of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Hau Giang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment, Soc Trang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment to investigate and verify the above information.

After the process of investigation, verification and collection of all evidence related to the content of the accusation, the Investigation Police Agency of Soc Trang Provincial Police (document issued before the province's merger - PV) issued Notice of results of handling information sources on crimes No. 10922/TB-CSKT dated June 29, 2025.

The conclusion stated: CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company has no signs of violating food safety regulations as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 157 of the Criminal Procedure Code. At the same time, the decision not to prosecute the criminal case "Violation of food safety regulations" No. 6392/QD-CSKT dated June 27, 2025.


As VietNamNet reported earlier, information from a Facebook account named Jonny Lieu spread on social networks, claiming that the Vietnamese government had violated food safety and hygiene.

On June 2, the interdisciplinary delegation of Hau Giang province inspected the Nguyen Dan and Dung Nga slaughterhouses. These two units process for CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company located in the province.

Regarding the image of a sick pig allegedly recorded at around 2:30 a.m. on March 26, 2022, which the person accusing the Vietnamese government posted on social media, Mr. Nguyen Chi Cuong - representative of the owner of the slaughterhouse confirmed that the image was taken at this facility.

According to Mr. Cuong, the pigs were imported in a healthy condition, with full quarantine papers. However, during the slaughtering process, due to the long time, one pig showed “abnormal signs”. As soon as it was discovered, the facility reported to the company for handling. The company staff directly took pictures and sent them via Zalo to report for destruction.

The representative of the facility owner also said that the product destruction process was documented with confirmation from veterinary staff, company staff and the slaughterhouse.

Immediately afterwards, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment sent a dispatch to the Ministry of Public Security requesting an investigation and handling of information circulating on social networks about the accusation that CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company sold diseased pork.
