Ensure progress is met
Before the end of its historic mission, the old Tay Giang district had started construction on all 407 houses that needed to be completed in 2025. From July 1, when operating a two-level government based on the merger of the four communes of Lang, Atieng, Dang, and Anong (belonging to the old Tay Giang district), Tay Giang commune urgently compiled and grasped data to avoid interrupting the progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses.
According to the report of Tay Giang Commune People's Committee, the number of temporary houses that need to be eliminated in the area in 2025 is 207, of which 7 are for people with meritorious services. To date, the locality has completed 175 houses; the remaining construction has reached about 80% progress.

Mr. Zơrâm Xôi (R'Bượp hamlet, Tây Giang commune) said that since the first days after the merger, the new commune officials came to check the progress and encourage the family. Up to now, the house has been completed, and his family just moved in a few days ago.
“Our house has been dilapidated for many years now, but we are so poor that we can’t save enough to fix it up. Luckily, the local government paid attention, surveyed and put my family on the list of temporary houses to be removed in 2025, with a support level of 60 million VND.
When I heard the news, I stopped working as a construction worker in the city to return to my hometown and build a house with my wife. Over the past two months, militia and youth union members have regularly come to support the demolition of the old house, moving materials, digging foundations... With a new house, my family of four no longer has to worry every time it rains," Mr. Xoi shared.
[ VIDEO ] - Mr. Alang Toi - Vice Chairman of Tay Giang Commune People's Committee informed about temporary house demolition:
Mr. Alang Toi - Vice Chairman of Tay Giang Commune People's Committee said that completing the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses is a project to welcome the Tay Giang Commune Party Congress for the term 2025 - 2030. Therefore, local leaders have established working groups to inspect, urge and supervise. For houses at risk of not ensuring progress, the commune will mobilize shock forces to promptly support and strive to complete the remaining 32 houses this July.
In Nam Tra My commune, the total number of houses supported to eliminate temporary houses is 288, of which 37 houses were newly built and 251 houses were repaired. Mr. Tran Van Man - Chairman of Nam Tra My Commune People's Committee said that by the beginning of July, the locality had completed 266 houses; the remaining construction reached 60 - 80% of the volume. It is expected that the commune will complete the goal of eliminating temporary houses in the 2023 - 2025 period this July.
Leave no one behind
According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, up to now, Da Nang City has implemented the elimination of 12,290/12,340 temporary houses (reaching nearly 99.6%). The number of houses that have not started construction is 50, of which 4 are for people with meritorious services.

To complete the goal of eliminating temporary housing before August 15, 2025, including housing for relatives of martyrs and people with revolutionary contributions to be completed before July 27 as directed by the Government, the People's Committee of Da Nang City requires the People's Committees at the commune level to continue to uphold their sense of responsibility and take drastic action in the spirit of "leaving no one behind".
Localities must regularly monitor and grasp the situation, clearly identify difficulties, obstacles and reasons why households have not started construction or have not completed construction or repairs.
For cases that cannot be implemented due to lack of human resources and funding, the People's Committee of Da Nang City requests that localities assign police, military, youth union forces, etc. to participate in supporting the demolition of old houses, leveling the ground, digging foundations, building and repairing houses. For households in particularly difficult circumstances, localities must promptly submit a written request for support to the Department of Agriculture and Environment - the standing agency, before July 12, 2025.

At the end of June, at the fifth meeting of the Central Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses is a major and very humane policy of the Party and State, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system, bringing important significance in many aspects, affirming "national love, compatriots' love", demonstrating the responsibility, love, and sharing of the whole community.
The Prime Minister requested localities to promptly grasp and resolve difficulties and problems in the implementation process; mobilize all resources in the spirit of "whoever has something helps, whoever has merit helps merit, whoever has property helps property, whoever has a lot helps a lot, whoever has little helps a little".
“A warm home is built, a love is left behind, the path to poverty reduction is opened, the people are grateful for the national love and compatriotism, that is the most noble reward for us” - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized.
